Alona blinked her eyes when she saw a very unusual event happening in front of her eyes. She even stopped in her steps to confirm that the woman's figure wearing the black beanie she saw was Lily.

She couldn't believe she saw Lily in the shopping center with a man. "Ryan?"

Alona laughed while seeing Lily, who seemed very close to Ryan. They both look comfortable with each other. She could even see Lily's face that didn't stop smiling.

"Lona, what are you looking at? Bring me the basket."

"Yes, Mom." Alona immediately walked over to her mother, waiting for her near the butcher's stall.

"What are you looking at?" her mother asked as soon as Alona approached.

"Nothing," replied Alona.

"I don't believe it. Have you seen a handsome man?"

Alona immediately shook her head. However, Alona's mother is still not sure about Alona's answer. She then looks a little in the direction that Alona saw earlier. "Isn't that Lily? Is that her boyfriend? I haven't greeted her in a long time."

She Leaves Alona alone at the butcher's stall. Uncontrollably, Alona's mother walked over to Lily, who was with Ryan. Alona could only take a deep breath seeing his mother now greeting Lily.

"Oh, Mrs. Thomas," said Lily when she saw the woman who greeted her.

"Oh, dear. I haven't seen you stop by my house in a long time," said Mrs. Thomas, Alona's mother.

Lily smiled in response to Mrs. Alona's words. "Didn't Alona tell you?"

Alona's mother whispered to Lily. "She told me that today, you succeeded with your serum. That is good news."

"Thank you," said Lily. "Oh yes. I forget. Ryan, this is Mrs. Thomas, Alona's mother. You already know Alona, right?" Lily said as she pulled Ryan's hand to get acquainted with Alona's mother.

"Ryan. Nice to meet you, Mrs. Thomas." Ryan immediately reached out his hand to shake hands with Alona's mother.

"Oh, Ryan." Mrs. Thomas welcomed Ryan's handshake. She then glanced at Lily. "Since seeing you, I've been curious, who is this Lily of mine with."

Lily immediately hugged Mrs. Thomas. "This woman is like my own mother. She's my escape. And—" Lily looked at Mrs. Thomas. "Her meat pie is the best meat pie I've ever eaten. Nothing compares to Mrs. Thomas Meat Pie."

Mrs. Thomas patted Lily's hand that was hugging him. "You're going too far, Lily." The woman then turned her attention to Ryan. "If you have time, I can make my signature pie so you can try it."

"Thanks. Maybe next time I'll try your meat pie," Ryan said.

"Mom, leave them alone," Alona interrupted. She had finished from the butcher stall and went straight to her mother. Alona then looked at Lily, who was standing next to her mother. She smiled crookedly at Lily. After that, she pulled her mother. "We'd better leave the two of them alone."

"It's not what you think, Lona," said Lily.

Alona responded to Lily's words with a big smile. "Relax tonight. You deserve it. Let's go, Mom." Alona immediately pulled her mother's hand away from Lily and Ryan.

Mrs. Thomas turned to Lily and Ryan. "See you, darling. You two should come over to my house and enjoy my meat pie."

Lily smiled as she nodded her head. Alona's mother smiled back at Lily and turned her attention to Alona, walking next to her. The two of them seemed to go to the cashier.

"It seems you are quite close to Alona's family," Ryan said.

Lily immediately turned to Ryan. "I already told you, Mrs. Thomas is like a mother to me. After all, she is a lovely woman. I think Alona's character has passed down a lot from her."

"What about your mother?" Ryan asked.

Lily shrugged. "I don't know about my mother. There's only my father. I only knew her from my father's stories."

"Sorry," said Ryan.

"It's okay. No need to apologize," said Lily. She then looked into his shopping cart with Ryan. "You want to buy another?"

Ryan took a look at their shopping cart too. "We need dessert. How about a chocolate cake with a little melted vanilla ice cream on top?"

"I can't agree more," Lily replied with a big smile.

"Then let's go get some ice cream." Ryan and Lily then resumed their shopping activities.

While shopping, both Ryan and Lily, seemed comfortable with each other. They chatted and joked while choosing the ingredients Ryan would cook.

Mr. Graff stands in front of the cryonic tube where Matthew's body is kept. He stared at it for a long time before he finally walked over to the panel used to regulate the conditions in the tube. Mr. Graff noticed the temperature settings in the box. Then he changed some of those settings.

"Your time to wake is coming closer, Matt. But first, I have to adjust your temperature," said Mr. Graff. He raises 1 degree of the temperature in the tube.

After saving the new settings he entered, Mr. Graff turned his attention to Matthew's face. "We will meet soon. My daughter likes you very much. I hope after you wake up, you don't let her down. She's been working hard for you too."

Mr. Graff then took a deep breath. He then walked away from the room where Matthew's body was stored. He stepped into his working room which was below the storage room.

While arriving at his working room, Mr. Graff re-opened his work journal to calculate the dose of his serum that he felt was right to wake Matthew from his long slumber. He had to re-calculate it as accurately as possible so that no mistake could cost Matthew.

If the plan to revive Matthew failed, he had to redo the results of his hard work from scratch. He didn't want anything like that to happen and chose to be careful before they decided when the time was right to wake Matthew.

Raising the temperature in Matthew's cryonic tube is the first step before preparing for the big day in his laboratory. Matthew would later be the first person to be awakened from his slumber after twenty years.

All eyes will be on his laboratory. However, there are still many controversies regarding his method. But he believes that what he is doing can give a second chance at life to other people suffering from a rare severe disease.

"None of this would have happened without you," said Mr. Graff while looking at a photo of himself with a woman who was pregnant. "You will be proud of Lily since she also played a big part in this research."

Mr. Graff caressed the woman's face in the photo. The woman is a researcher and also his life partner. After giving birth to their daughter, she died because of a complication in the giving birth process.

Since then, Mr. Graff promised himself to be able to give people who suffer from rare diseases a chance to be cured. Because he had no opportunity to save the life of the woman he loved so much.
