Wonderful story. I really love it… I wish there were more chapters of the two sons of the emperor and the empress 😍♥️
i love everything avout this book!! from character development, to story line and even the humor!! love it!!!
This is an excellent book it can be a slow burn at times but so worth it the main FL and ML are amazing the supporting characters help the story move well. I hope you give this book a chance. It will be worth the time
This is a good read. It is a COMPLETED book. The story is well written and the story line is great. It is a bit of a slow burn at times, but worth it because it is all about context. I would definitely recommend this book.
I have a question for people who have read it, initially it seemed like everything was happy in the lives of the MC's second uncle. but eventually we find out that her uncle and aunt respect each other but her aunt doesn't feel love. Is there a possibility that her uncle has some kind of affection/feelings for mc's mother(Xie R)?

It’s not a bad book but I just don’t understand why almost every single translation group can’t get the pronouns right. It’s up to the point that even words like grandmother turn into grandfather. So I honestly suspect that all translations nowadays are MTL and that the translation groups don’t bother to check if it’s translated correctly. If you already get paid for the translation then why can’t you put in a bit of effort. As a reader I don’t expect a perfect translation but I still want to be able to enjoy reading without feeling as if I’m reading an MTL book.
The plot started out slow for me at first but, as I read I discovered that it was just at the right pace. The FL makes you cheer her on and even look for more face-slapping opportunities. The step by step development of her character is so realistic and enjoyable 😉. Reading this story is one word..."MORE" 🤩💞💞
My disappointment about this story is the starting age of the FL, 9 going on 10, yes 9 years of age going on 10. Considering the pace of the story, if I have to wait for the FL to reach a marriageable age ...it too daunting. The schemes are not over the top, but somehow the story is lacking in some areas. It's good, time skips would be wonderful as age progression would be better than a daily account.
i've read a lot of books in webnovel but this is the first time i've found antagonists that are truly getting on my nerves! the step mother and step daughter are the epitome of a white lotus. The mother is unreasonable, entitled, and insecure with a plating victim mindset. She played the perfect image of a loving mother when in fact she wanted to get rid of the FL just because the FL is in the way. she feels like the FL is the source of her misery without even bother to look at the mirror and reflect on herself. she basically 'sold' her 'suffering' to her husband to fet rid of FL. every words she said and every acts she does are truly annoying that you can't help but get angry and wanted to punch her but you couldn't! she aggravates you and you couldn't do anything, that's the most annoying part. the step sister is 9 years old but a manipulative and scheming brat. she's sickly and always use her sickness to gain attention of everyone, to make people hates on FL, especially her stupid father. she's smart, beautiful, sensible, and filial are the images that she portrays. she wants ppl to compare her to FL and makes ppl said "the eldest miss is nothing compares to her step sister". you know, the classic white lotus act, she mastered it. trust me, i hate her to the bone even when she's just a kid. meanwhile, the FL is just a child. she's refreshing as she's really really just a 9 year old child. she's funny, lovable, and cute, just like how a child supposed to be. she's loved by everyone except her own family, the first branch. she's naive but after a series of events, it forced her to grow up. and that's what i like about her, her character development is very visible. you can clearly see how she changes, the events that makes her change from a naive and innocent girl to a still innocent girl but cunning and smart. other novel's FL took matters with her own hand and get revenge. but here, the adults around her are the one who steps up, just like what an adult supposed to do- protecting the young. the FL is just a child and she acts like a child is the charm of the novel. i can't say much about the ML other than he has secret identity. he's sick, disabled, and doesn't have a long life- but we all know that he won't be in the future. but i could say that i hate his subordinates. they are stupid, shallow, ruthless, and cleary, they didn't respect him as an individual but the shadow of his parents. just read it.

This is one of the more interesting reads I've read yet. Intelligent, witty and a good read with a good story. Love it!!
There are so few books that have been translated from Chinese with childhood sweethearts, that too in a historical setting. So I hope this gets chosen, at least even if it has clichés, the flavour will be different.
This far very nice. I like how the male lead is in wheelchair, so the story and plot don't feel that used. Also like how the female lead treats the male lead.

I‘ve read the entire novel and it‘s great! Most importantly no stupid misunderstanding between the leads and just pure sugar. I also love how intelligent the female lead is. I never need to worry about schemes against her because she is able to deal with it just fine. The male lead is an orphan so no annoying relative or evil mother-in-laws.
Love the story. Is has slow, deliberate pace that is just so calming and yet still entertaining. The story is sometimes translated really badly but it still doesn't change the fact that the original has to be really detailed, capture the times aurhentically, is very well written and thought through. The characters themselves were just so good. I haven't read about such lifelike, deep characters in a long time (in asian novels I mean). The villains sometimes have just two brain cell that they share so they are really no problem for our scheming, careful MC and ML. And MC and ML... sometimes author write that MC and ML are geniuses but reality is tragic. In this novel, author SHOW how clever and prepared they are and that is precious. The plot is slow, sometimes very complicated (a lot of court politics, family politics, war, governing), MC and ML are making a lot of stuff by their own hands so there are sometimes detailed paragraphs of these processes... but tbh, this pure, realistic gestures just made me love this story so much more. Not mentioning the things made just capture ancient China atmosphere so perfectly. This is kind of revenge story, but one of the mildest ones. MC is not looking for people to off. She gives everybody chances and only once they provoke her, she ends it. Cleverly, intelligently, it was amazing to read. The plot is in ancient China, Emperor is the Heaven's child and all powerful and all. MC is clever, but she is behaving in accordance with the traditions and times. Author didn't make an annoying mistake of changing times and traditions for her (at least not much 😂) and that was another authentic aspect that I loved. That, and devoted ML. He schemed for our MC all the book and that was the purest gesture of his love. I've read this story three times I think. First two just up to half of this novel, it was not completed yet. This time I've read it whole and... it is not perfect. Sometimes it is really long winded, sometimes stupid, sometimes all goes too well. But it is amazing comfort read. But it is really slow read, and romance is slowburning process so probably not everybody's cup of tea. But it just happen to suit my taste perfectly. Btw - MC and ML have no blood relations. And nothing romantic with underage MC - ML is no monster.
