Lia was sure that she had shed more tears today than she had ever in her entire life, here she was locked up in her bedroom crying her tears out and feeling so much hurt, so much pain, so much loneliness, she didn't feel like living anymore, honestly.
First the reactions of Natasha and Dom she could understand, she knew that she had hurt them and that she deserved every ounce of their hate, but she felt even worse when Grandfather told her that he was disappointed in her, and everything just felt even worse when Lulu came here to insult her.
She felt worthless, as if she was nothing, she was the most hated woman in the world today. She felt like she needed to talk to someone or else she would die from all these unbearable feelings that she was feeling.
Lia got up from her bed found her handbag and got her phone as she scrolled through her contacts, she wanted to call Pete, but she knew that he would be busy, he was out of town for an operation after all and she didn't want to disturb him, she had already done that enough today.
She was sure that he was already fed up with her and her problems, so she dialed the number of someone that she knew would answer no matter what, and just as she had thought, he truly did answer.
"Nine…"called Lia as she put her phone to her ear and sniffed, surprised that he had answered her call with everything that was going on.
"Yes…" replied Nine as he stood up from the living room where Michael and Charlie were as he walked out to the garden.
"Nine… I feel so horrible right now, so terrible, everyone hates me" said Lia as she broke down and started crying again over the phone as Nine sighed, he knew that she wanted him to coax her, to comfort her, but right now, he didn't think that he could do that.
"What did you expect to happen?" asked Nine as his insensitive and cold question surprised Lia.
"I don't know but not this" replied Lia as she cried.
"Did you expect us to congratulate you and give you hugs for what you did?" asked Nine.
"Did you think that we wouldn't be hurt by your actions?" asked Nine as Lia stopped crying.
"Not you too Nine, please don't be like this, don't hate me too, don't be cold to me, I can't take it" said Lia as she pleaded with him and Nine sighed as he shook his head, he couldn't continue doing this anymore, Lia needed the truth.
"I don't hate you Lia, but I will tell you the truth, because it has been a long time coming" said Nine.
"What do you mean?" asked Lia in fear.
"What I mean Lia is that this can't continue… you can't continue to come running to me when you realize that your actions have landed you in a whole heap of trouble" said Nine.
"For the longest time I've been in love with you, but you've never cared, to you I was just your should to lean on whenever you felt like it" said Nine.
"That's not true Nine" said Lia as she shook her head.
"Oh it is Lia, and you know that…"said Nine.
"I've always been there for you because I love you, but it cost me a lot" said Nine.
"I should have said something from the day you told me that you felt like killing Natasha and you actually sent thugs after her, imagine what could have happened to her?" asked Nine.
"It was dumb for me not to realize that if you were capable of that, you were also capable of doing everything else that you did" said Nine.
"All this time I thought that I was protecting you that I was shielding you and doing you good by covering for you" said Nine.
"But in reality I just made you get worse and worse, I thought that because of my love for you I should continue letting you do whatever you felt like doing" said Nine.
"But that is so far from the truth, the truth is that if I truly loved you I would have stopped you from doing the horrible things you did, I would have never let you get your hands dirty" said Nine as Lia started to cry again.
"So I guess in a way, what happened is my fault, for keeping quiet when I should have said something" said Nine as Lia shook her head.
"No Nine, it's not your fault, it's mine all mine, I shouldn't have done what I did, and I shouldn't have taken you for granted, I'm sorry for everything, I just want things to go back to the way they were before" said Lia as she cried.
"That's impossible Lia and you know that…"said Nine.
"Look Lia, I think it's best you take this time to reflect on your actions and really deal with the things that made you so angry in the first place, and I can't help you… only you can help yourself" said Nine as Lia cried.
"Please don't abandon me Nine, please" pleaded Lia.
"I've been with you for so long, I think now is the time that I should leave you alone for our better good, so goodbye Lia you are always going to be my friend, and I honestly wish that you get better" said Nine as he ended the call and Lia cried even more as she threw her phone away.
Now everyone had truly abandoned her, even Nine wanted nothing to do with her… she was an outcast, she was unwanted and she regretted calling Nine because now she felt even worse.
Lia buried her face in her pillow as she continued crying, that seemed to be the only thing that she could do at the moment.
…
Lia heard a knock on her bedroom door as she did not even both answering it, she just kept on crying she didn't want to see or talk to anyone, she just wanted to be alone.
"My princess, what is the matter? I was told that you haven't left your room all day?" asked Cecil in worry as he walked into his daughter's room.
Lia did not even bother looking up at him, she just continued crying which caused Cecil to hear warning bells as he was sure that something very serious had to have happen for his princess to cry like this.
"What happened my princess? You can tell me; I can make it better" said Cecil as he sat down at the edge of her bed, and he rubbed her crying back as she said nothing.
"What is the matter Cecilia?" asked Alyssa as she walked into her daughter room, she could hear her cries from down the hall.
"She won't speak to me Alyssa, what could have happened to make her cry like this?" asked Cecil as he looked at his wife in worry who in turn looked at the crying Lia that had buried her face in her pillow crying.
"My love what is the matter? Tell me is it is something serious?" asked Alyssa in worry as she knelt beside her daughter's bed.
Lia did not seem to want to say anything to her parents, she just remained there unresponsive and crying, and that caused her parents, especially her father to feel more worried than anything else, he never liked it when his princess didn't feel well.
"Cecilia my love, tell me what the matter? What is making you cry like this?" asked Alyssa in a soft tone as she caressed her daughter's hair, but Lia just kept on crying as there was silence.
Alyssa sighed, Lia rarely told her anything, there was a high chance that she would tell her father rather than her, and that did not bother her one bit.
"You know what darling, it's alright if you don't want to talk, but when you are ready to talk your favourite desert will be ready for you" said Alyssa as she smiled hoping that would cheer Lia up, but it didn't.
Alyssa sighed before getting up and leaving the room as Cecil stayed behind determined to get to the bottom of this, if it was someone who had caused his princess to feel this way then he would make sure that they did not go unpunished.
"My princess, talk to me, I'm here say something" said Cecil as Lia was prepared to say nothing at all.
Alyssa was on her way to the kitchen when she suddenly heard the maid call out after her.
"Ma'am Alyssa, Miss Margret is on the phone" said the maid as she handed Alyssa the telephone.
"Oh alright then thank you, would you please go to the kitchen and prepare the ingredients for a tart?" asked Alyssa as she smiled.
"Alright Ma'am" replied the maid as she nodded.
"Thank you, and oh one more thing, do you by any chance know why Cecilia is upset at the moment?" asked Alyssa.
"I do not know ma'am, she left in the morning returned in the afternoon and went out again but came back quickly and she looked rather sad, and then Miss Lulu was here sometime ago and that's when I realized that Miss Lia locked herself in her room and was crying" explained the maid.
"I see…" said Alyssa as she frowned and walked to the living room ending the call that was placed on hold.
"Oh Maggie, to what do I owe this weekend call, we don't have a book club meeting till next week" said Alyssa as she smiled.
"You have something very serious to tell me?" asked Alyssa as she frowned in curiosity as to what that could be.
"Well alright then, I am all ears" replied Alyssa as she smiled.
