"Confessed what?" asked Margaret in confusion as she turned to look at Michael, she was not in any way surprised that he was here, if Joy was here, and Nine was here, it meant that there was something serious going on, and the others would be arriving soon.
"Aunt…" said Michael as he sighed deeply.
"Lia confessed to being the one who drugged Dom and Natasha six years ago" said Michael as nothing could describe the look of pure shock that was present on Margaret's face as she was at a loss for words.
"What??!" came Ernest Jr's shocked tone as they all turned to look at him as he stood at the foot of the door, he had seen Michael come in here and he followed him, only to be taken back by what he just heard him say.
"Ernest lower your voice, Joy is in the kitchen" said Margaret as she whispered and walked towards him as she pulled him into the room and locked the door.
"What did you just say?" asked Ernest Jr as he looked at Michael who sighed, it wouldn't get any easier telling people, he just had to tell everyone once and for all.
"Uncle, you heard me right, Lia was the one who drugged Natasha and Dom, it wasn't Natasha, she was the one who framed Natasha to make it look like she was the one who did it" said Michael as Ernest Jr was in total disbelief.
"Oh my…" said Margaret as she was letting the words sink in… Lia did that?? Lia was capable of doing something as dubious as that and framing her best friend… this was just simply too much.
"How sure are you about this?" asked Ernest Jr as this time he turned his attention to Nine who had been silent, he needed to hear it from him, he refused to believe that this was true.
"Very sure Uncle… Lia was the one who told Dom herself… she told him everything… it's the truth… she's the culprit and not Natasha…" said Nine as those words were enough to convince Ernest Jr of the true seriousness of the matter as he was speechless.
"My goodness… I always knew that Natasha was innocent, but my God, I've always thought that the real mastermind was an outsider that wanted to hurt our family and not someone as close to us as Lia… as close to Natasha and Dom as Lia… this is simply unbelievable…" said Margaret as this was too much for her to take in, she had to sit down.
"That makes you and me both Aunt… this is truly unbelievable" said Michael.
"But it makes no sense, why would she do such a thing?" asked Ernest Jr as he frowned.
"Uncle, I don't know if you've ever realized, but Lia has always had a crush on Dom, it was nothing but a mere simple crush… who knew that it would turn into something this serious?" asked Nine as he sighed.
"A crush isn't enough to turn someone into a criminal" said Margaret as they were all silent.
…
"Thanks for driving me over here Ben, you got here really quickly" said Lulu as she removed her seatbelt.
"No need to thank me" replied Benjamin as he could see that this was a very serious matter.
"I'm going to be right back, do you want to come in?" asked Lulu as she looked at him.
"No, I'll wait here" said Benjamin as he didn't want to intrude, this seemed like a family matter.
"Alright" said Lulu as she hurriedly got out of the car and rushed up the steps to the front door as she entered the house.
Lulu could hear faint voices that were coming from the second living room that was right down the hall as she rushed over there and tried to open the door only to realize that it was locked.
Lulu knocked on the door as she heard her mother's voice asking who it was.
"It's me mom" replied Lulu as she heard footsteps and the door was unlocked by Nine as she quickly entered.
"Oh Lulu, have you heard the news?" asked Margaret as she looked at her daughter, she was distraught by this whole thing.
"Yes, I have, Charlie told me, and I can't believe that woman had the courage to do something like this!" said Lulu in rage.
"Lower your voice Lulu, Joy is in the kitchen" said Michael as Lulu was seething.
"I just can't help it, what sort of nonsense is this? Where is the loyalty, where is the regard for other people's feelings? She is nothing but a selfish coward who can never face us" said Lulu as she reduced her voice but her tone was still filled with rage.
"Calm down Lulu" said Nine as Lulu ignored him.
"I can't calm down; it's just too much what sort of injustice is this??!" asked Lulu as she was trying so hard to keep her voice down but it was straining her, if she felt this way, she could only imagine how worse Natasha felt.
"I feel the same Lulu, but try to relax" said Ernest Jr as he did not like how worked up Lulu was getting, sure it was only normal for her to feel this way, but he felt like she would blow up and end up doing something she wasn't supposed to do.
"How can I relax Dad? This is the worst thing ever to happen to our family" said Lulu.
"We all blamed an innocent woman because the guilty one was right there in the shadows controlling everything!" said Lulu as she was so worked up.
"Lulu is right though" said Charlie as he suddenly entered the room and locked the door behind him.
"And lower your voice Lulu, I can hear you from down the hall very loudly" said Charlie as Lulu scoffed and Margaret beckoned that she come and sit down with her, to which Lulu reluctantly did.
"You all are taking this too lightly, you're supposed to be as worked up as I am" said Lulu as Margaret tried to calm her down.
"Well if we were all acting like you we wouldn't be able to think straight" said Charlie as he sat down, he drove here as quick as he could.
"Charlie's right Lulu, and it's not like we are taking this lightly, we are not, we understand how serious this is, but we aren't the victims, Natasha and Dom are, and they are the ones in the best place to feel rage" said Michael.
"Isn't that the truth? We are just bystanders, all we can do is watch" said Charlie as Lulu sighed.
Joy opened the fridge as she was making herself some sandwiches, she could hear some faint voices from outside the kitchen, but she didn't know what was going on, and she didn't care, she just wanted to make her sandwiches.
Joy stood up on her tippy toes as she tried to get some bolognese that was high up as she reached out to get it her elbow accidentally hit a glass bottle of hot sauce as luckily for her Alfred had just walked into the kitchen in a nick of time as he caught the bottle.
"Uh ooh, that was close" said Joy as she looked down and she was relieved, if the bottle had broken she would have cried because she had bad luck whenever she was in the kitchen alone.
"Very close" replied Alfred as he put the bottle back and got her what she was looking for.
"Thank you Alfred" said Joy as she smiled at him.
"You are welcome Joy" replied Alfred with a smile as he suddenly realized that they weren't home but rather at Ernest Jr and Margaret's house.
"Joy what are you doing here?" asked Alfred in confusion as Joy blinked at him.
"I came here to surprise Grandma and Grandfather, mommy and daddy are very busy today so I'm here" said Joy as Alfred had a confused look on his face, that made no sense.
"Ahh I see, and what are you doing in the kitchen?" asked Alfred.
"Trying to make myself a sandwich, I'm hungry" said Joy as she frowned and Alfred walked to the kitchen door that led into the hall as he could hear faint voices, that was enough for him to know that there was something serious going on.
"Ahh I see" said Alfred as Joy nodded.
"And what are you doing here Alfred?" asked Joy as Alfred looked at her.
"Well I had some errands to run today, and I came to see the old master" said Alfred as he smiled.
"So we are all here today" said Joy as she giggled and Alfred smiled at her.
"How about I make you that sandwich and you go watch tv upstairs?" asked Alfred as he smiled.
"Okay, thank you Alfred" said Joy as she agreed, not even thinking anything of it as she ran out the kitchen and up the stairs, she was tired of trying to make the sandwich herself, the countertop was too high and there wasn't a little stool for her to stand on like there was at home.
Alfred sighed in relief as he quickly made her sandwich and he brought it up to her in the upstairs living room as Joy was already watching some tv, but he could still hear faint voices from downstairs.
"Thank you Alfred" said Joy as she smiled at him happily.
"You're welcome Joy, so tell me, what are you watching?" asked Alfred as he sat down and increased the volume of the television just a bit that it was able to drown out the faint sound of voices coming from downstairs as Joy started to tell him about the show.
…
"You know what, that's enough of us being worked up about this, Lia did it, there's nothing we can do or say to change it or make it better" said Michael as he was done with this stale discussion, and he was sure that everyone else was too.
"Michael's right, we have much more important issues on hand" said Charlie as he nodded.
"Oh like what?!" asked Lulu in sarcasm.
"The question now is… who is going to be the one to tell Grandfather?" asked Nine as they all went silent and they looked at one another.
"I mean…. Does he really need to know?" asked Charlie as he winced, Grandfather would react worse than they all did.
"Oh he needs to know, if we don't tell him he's going to find out some other way then it's going to be a big problem" said Lulu.
"So who's going to tell him?" asked Lulu.
"I don't really think that we should, or at least not right now… you know how Father can get, we don't want him worked up over this, we got such a scare last time from him trying to run, this is going to be even worse" said Margaret in worry.
"I agree Aunt, but we can't not tell him, we have to… it's just a matter of who is going to be the one to do it…" said Nine.
"I'll do it" said Ernest Jr as he sighed, he was the only one here that was capable of breaking such bad news to his father.
"Well good luck to you Uncle…" said Charlie as he could not even begin to imagine how Grandfather would react.
