Chương 156: Once again
On Saturday.
The days had gone by very quickly, and before Natasha could even realize what was happening, it was Saturday already, today was the day of her father's funeral, and to her, it just felt like it was a dream, a horrible dream that she would have liked to wake up from anytime soon.
A knock on the door of her room snapped Natasha out of her many thoughts as she turned to look at the door.
"Are you ready?" asked Dom as he walked into the room as Natasha looked at him.
"You can never be ready to say goodbye can you?" asked Natasha as she looked at him with no emotion at all.
"You are right… I am sorry" said Dom as he realized that he was being insensitive.
"Where is Joy?" asked Natasha as she tied her hair in a low ponytail as she removed all the hair from her face.
"Alfred took her to my mother's house to spend the day" said Dom as he explained.
"That's better" said Natasha as she wore black gloves on her hands, a funeral was no place for a child, her baby would not know what was going on.
"She told me to please ask you to forgive her because she will not be able to attend the funeral" said Dom.
"That's alright, tell her that I am grateful she is taking care of Joy" said Natasha as her voice had no tone of happiness or neither sadness, it was just plain blank.
"You know she loves to" said Dom as he smiled.
"Hmm" said Natasha as she looked at herself in the dressing table mirror, her hair was well brushed, her eyes were dry, and her face was clear of tears, she was wearing a black knee length dress and black gloves, she never thought of the day she would wear black, she had always hated the colour, she preferred bright colours, but today was different for her, it would be by far one of the most important days of her entire life.
"Let's go" said Natasha as she walked past Dom, all the attention he was giving to her was out of pity and nothing more, so there was nothing there for her to feel than gratefulness, she knew that Dom considered her father like his own Uncle, so it would make sense for him to feel bad as well.
"Alright then" said Dom as he sighed and he followed after Natasha, he did not mind her being cold to him, she was still grieving, and he would make sure to support her, in anyway that he could.

Here she was, once again, in front of her father, but the difference was that he would not open his eyes and smile at her, he would not speak sweet words to her, tell her that he loved her like his own soul, and assure her that no matter what, everything would be alright, and that pained her so much.
She thought that she could be strong, that she would not cry, that all her tears has been shed already, but once she stood there, looking at her father's peaceful face in the open casket, tears just began to trickle down her face.
Her father…her lovely father, here he was, about to be put in the ground, and she just could not come to terms with it, she wanted to tell him over and over again that she loved him so much, that she appreciated him for everything he had done for her, she wanted him to meet his granddaughter.
Dom just looked at Natasha as he saw her cry, they were already at the cemetery, before the funeral service began, and he just let her cry and get everything out, because he was sure that he could not comfort her now.
"Dom" came Michael's voice as he called out to Dom and he walked to where they were as Charlie and Nine followed behind him as they all wore black.
"Michael" said Dom as he smiled and he shook Michael's hand.
"How is she doing?" asked Michael as he saw Natasha as she just stood there, sobbing silently.
"Not good" said Dom as he sighed, and Michael sighed as he walked over to Natasha.
"Natasha… I am very sorry" said Michael as he stood beside Natasha.
"Oh Michael" said Natasha as she cried and she turned to hug Michael.
"It will be alright, I know it will, you just need time" said Michael as he hugged her back, she needed all the support she could get at this moment.
"*Sigh*, he didn't need to go yet" said Charlie as he sighed and he looked at Michael and Natasha who were hugging.
"He really did not" said Dom as he sighed, he agreed with Charlie, and Nine just stood there quietly.
"I will be right back" said Charlie as he sighed and he walked over to where Natasha and Michael were hugging as they broke their hug.
"Natasha, please accept my condolences… Uncle Larry was… he was such a good man" said Charlie as he smiled.
"Thank you Charlie" said Natasha as she forced a smile and she could not hold her tears.
"*Sigh*" said Charlie as he sighed and he spread his arms wide for a hug and Natasha hugged him, even though he no longer liked her, none of that mattered right now, they were here to support her and show that they were here for her.
"There, there" said Charlie as he patted Natasha on her back, and Nine walked over.
"Thank you" said Natasha as she sniffed and she stepped back as she stopped hugging Charlie.
"I am sorry Natasha" said Nine as he sighed, he truly was sorry, she did not deserve this at all, no one did, she was not a bad person at all, there were just mistakes that she had made that caused all of them to grow apart.
"Thank you Nine" said Natasha as she smiled, deep down she was glad that they wee all here, they were her only friends after all.
"Do you need a hug?" asked Nine as he sighed, he knew he would regret this later, but in this moment, no one really cared.
"Sure" said Natasha as she sniffed and she hugged Nine, this was a once in a blue moon occasion, Nine did not like people touching him, so for him to offer to hug her, Natasha was really appreciative of that.
"Thank you" said Natasha as she broke their hug.
Dom was very appreciative of the fact that they all showed up, because, he would not have been able to comfort Natasha at all.
"Oh sweetie, I am so sorry" said Lia as she walked to Natasha and she hugged her.
"Oh Lia" said Natasha as she hugged Lia and she cried.
"I am so sorry, Uncle Larry was… well he was Uncle Larry" said Lia as she laughed and she wiped the tears from her eyes as Natasha let go of her.
"Yes he was" said Natasha as she laughed as well and tears fell from her eyes.
"I am so sorry sweetie, I really am" said Lia as she smiled and she wiped away the tears from her eyes, a funeral was not a happy place to be at all.
"Thank you Lia… thank you for being here" said Natasha as she sniffed and she smiled, she did not know what she would have done without her being here for her.
"Anytime Natasha, anytime" said Lia as she smiled and Natasha smiled at her.
"Hello" said Lia as she smiled and Michael gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Hello Lia" said Michael.
"Hi Charlie" said Lia as she smiled and Charlie gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Hi" said Charlie as he smiled sadly.
"Nine" said Lia as she gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Hmm" said Nine.
"Dom" said Lia.
"Lia" said Dom as he smiled at her and he gave her a kiss on the cheek, to think that they all would meet again in this sort of circumstances was not funny at all, it really wasn't, Natasha was in so much pain, and everyone else there was in such pain as well, they had all grown up with Larry, he had seen them all grow up, and now he was gone too soon before his time, and it made them all sad.
"He should have gone very peacefully" said Lia as she wiped way her tears as she looked at the open casket.
"Yes, he should have" said Dom, Larry did not have to suffer like that to go on.
"I will miss him" said Lia.
"We all will" said Dom as he sighed.
"Oh Natasha, I am so sorry" said Chloe as she walked over to where Natasha was standing.
"Oh Chloe" said Natasha as she gave Chloe a big hug.
