Chương 11: Permanent
"Come in" said Natasha as she heard a knock on the door.
Alfred walked in with a glass jug of water, and he placed it on the table Natasha was working on.
"Madam, do you need anything else?" asked Alfred as he stepped back.
After Breakfast Natasha decided to work on something important, so she went to one of the spare offices to work in peace.
"No, that's everything" said Natasha as she kept her eyes on her laptop.
"Thank you" said Natasha as she looked up and smiled at Alfred.
"You are welcome Madam" said Alfred.
"Madam, how was your night in your new room?" asked Alfred.
"I just wanted to ask, so I could know if you wanted any changes to be done to the room" he said.
"Oh umm, everything was fine, nothing needs changing," said Natasha
"Okay Madam" said Alfred, it was true that he wanted to make sure that Natasha was comfortable, it was part of his job anyway, but his man reason for asking that question, was because he wanted to find out if this new development of Natasha staying in a separate room was permanent.
He wanted to know if she had any plans of returning back to the master's room.
"Madam is your stay in the west wing permanent?" asked Alfred as he decided to go straight to the point, there was no point hiding his concern.
"Yes it is Alfred" replied Natasha plainly as she looked up from her laptop.
She did not see any point in hiding anything, she knew that Alfred only wanted the best for her, and it was normal for him to ask such a question, seeing as he knew anything and probably everything that had to do with her and her husband's more than rocky relationship.
And in the end she had realized that she had wasted her time trying to get something that was not hers in the first place, so she was going to stop trying, and she was going to do something better for herself.
"I have no intentions whatsoever to return to the east wing" she said very seriously like there was no room for question.
"Does that answer your question?" asked Natasha as she looked at Alfred.
"Yes it does Madam" said Alfred.
Was it only him, or had the Madam been more serious and straight forward since she woke up crying yesterday morning, Alfred did not know what happened, and neither did he know id this change of hers was good, but he did know that he deserved to be happy.
"Good" said Natasha.
"Now that we cleared that up" said Natasha.
"On second thought, I would like to change the interior of this office, I will be working here from now on" she said.
"Okay Madam" said Alfred.
"Any major changes?" asked Alfred.
"Not quite, the furniture may stay, but I want new curtains and wallpaper" she said.
"Okay Madam and to which colour?" asked Alfred.
"You know my colour Alfred" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Yellow it is then" said Alfred as he smiled.
"Yes" said Natasha as she smiled.
Meanwhile Elsewhere in the house.
Joy was in her room colouring in her colouring book, when she heard footsteps, she thought that maybe it was her mother or Alfred and that they had come to check on her, but that was until she saw who it was.
"Daddy!!!!" said Joy as he eyes lit up and she stood up and ran to her father with open arms.
"Hello my princess" said Joy's father with a smile on his face as he picked his daughter up.
"How are you my princess??" he asked as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"I am good Daddy" said Joy as she giggled.
"Daddy why are you back so early??" asked Joy.
"Well my princess, I could not see you last night before you went to bed, and I had to go to the office early this morning, so I decided to quickly come and see you" he said with a smile on his face as he poked Joy's nose.
"Yes Daddy, you forgot to give me my Goodnight Kiss" said Joy as she pouted.
"No my princess I did, but you were fast asleep when I cam back" he said as he smiled.
"Oh I see now Daddy" said Joy.
"Yes my princess, so what did you do today??" he asked.
"Well I ate breakfast with mommy, and then we…" said Joy as she trailed off.
"And oooh, Daddy can me, you and Mommy go jogging??" asked Joy.
"Why do you want to go jogging all of a sudden my princess?" he asked
"Well Mommy says that running is healthy, and I want us to run together" said Joy.
"Ahh I see my princess" he said.
"Yes, so daddy can we all go running??" asked Joy.
"Umm not right now my princess, I have a lot of work to do" he said, and as soon as he said that Joy became sad.
He did not like seeing his princess sad, but he could not shake off the feeling that them jogging together was another one of Natasha's plans, to be honest he had had enough of her stupid games and plans, and this was not a good time for her to plan such, the company was at the brink of collapsing and she did not care at all.
If he could he would never see that woman again for the rest of his life, but Joy was the only thing tying them together, and he loved his daughter, he could not let her go.
"Look Sweetie, I cannot make any promises" he said softly.
"But as soon as I can, we can all go running together, is that alright??" he asked.
"Pinkie Promise??" asked Joy as she stretched out her hand.
"Pinkie Promise" he said as he stretched out his pinkie and caught Joy's pinkie.
"Yayyy, Thank you Daddy" said Joy as she smiled.
"You are welcome my princess" he said.
"So what were you doing??" he asked.
"I was colouring daddy" said Joy.
"Since Mommy said that she wanted to go work" she said.
"*Tisk* Since when has that woman even worked" he said as he scoffed to himself.
"Well Joy My dear, I have to go now" he said as he looked sad.
"Aww but why daddy??? why don't you stay longer?" asked Joy sadly.
"I cannot my princess, I am sorry" he said.
"Okay I will make you a deal" he said.
"You let me go now, and I promise to come back home early today to give you your goodnight kiss, how does that sound?" he asked as he looked at Joy.
"Hmmm" said Joy as she seemed to be thinking.
"Okay then daddy" she said as she smiled.
"So it's a deal?" he asked.
"Deal" said Joy as she laughed.
