"Understood?"
Thats the first thing Michael hears, infront of him stands a professor, speaking in russian.
"Uhm, sir, where am I?"
Said michael innocently
"..."
*1 week later*
Looking around his room michael or should I say, Alexander. Sighed.
"Its still difficult to believe, who knew transmigration was even possible?
I thought i'm in some kind of dream or something, and that I would wake up"
"But, oh well, no use dwelling on that, first things first, I need to organize all the information."
" I transmigrated into the famous russian tsar Alexander II Nikolaevich Romanov"
The year is 1830 and i'm currently 12 years old.
And i'm located in the kremlin palace in moscow."
"The industrial revolution is underway, the british empire is at its zenith, and all of europe is busy conquering each other and the world."
"Yay, so much fun..."
Said alexander II sarcasticlly, he is not amused by the situation at all, especially when he knows where the russian empire will be headed towards if he doesn't change history.
His assasination, a communist revolution, and the eradication of the romanov dynasty. (Not fun)
Now, alexander could just avoid all this by escaping to europe or usa, he has plenty of wealth, having the ability to live in luxury anywhere in the world.
"But thats boring, i've already lived a mediocre life once, and I'm not about to live in mediocrity when the chance to change the future is right infront of me, a chance, to create an empire on which the sun never sets."
"Just thinking about all this is giving me a headache, How does one change the fate of an entire empire? Especially the russian empire, everywhere you look there is opposition to reform, in the military, church, government, nobility, hell even the current tsar is opposed to reform."
*knock knock*
"Who is it?"
"Your majesty, the tsar has for your requested your presence."
After putting on the appropriate attire Alexander exits his room and starts following the servant, looking at the hallways adorned with beautiful intricate patterns and paintings Alexander couldn't help but admire them.
After a while Alexander came near a door, the servant signaling for him to enter, Alexander braces himself and opens the door.
Inside he sees something that resembales an office, there are book shelves with books in them, there are lamps lighting up the room, casting a warm yellow glow.
There is also a man sitting in a chair organizing the paper thats on his desk , next to him is what looks like a cup of tea.
The man, noticing Alexanders presence offers him to sit down.
"That guy looks familiar... wait.
Thats Tsar Nicholas I, the tsar known for his conservative policies and theemphasis on Autocracy, Religion, and Nationality."
'His hair being in the "classic gentlemans cut" having a mustache and wearing military uniform also he-'
"Do you know why I have called you here?"
Tsar Nicholas I asked, interrupting Alexanders thoughts.
"No father"
'I actually might have an idea on what the reasons might be, it may be about my uhhh.... continious talks about re-'
"From your tutors i've heard something about "reform", might you explain?"
Alexander is now a bit nervous, he feels tons of pressure from Nicholas I and is starting to sweat.
"Well you I uhm, well"
'My god whst am I doing, calm down calm down you can do this, just organize your thoughts into proper sentences'
"What i'm trying to say is that, in my opinion the russian empire, needs some re-structuring, like, the abolishment of serfdom and land re-distribution."
Hearing this Nicholass face darkens a bit.
So, he calms himself down and explains.
"Alexander, our power comes from keeping those peasents bound to their land, keeping them obedient which prevents them from raising any objections, any change in the country will start to undermine our rule, the rule of the tsar."
Hearing this Alexander couldn't help but frown, he doesn't agree with this man, not by a long shot.
"We were chosen by god to rule over these people, its our right."
'No, we were just lucky to be the tsar.
The power of a nation comes from the people, inhibiting their abilities is like inhibiting the ability of the country, unacceptable.'
But, Alexander can't say these thoughts out loud, or else this discussian with his father may never end.
"Do you understand."
"Understood father."
'I do indeed understand, I just don't agree'
"You are dismissed."
Leaving the room Alexander sighs, he didn't excpect the discussian to take well over 1 hour, he is mentally tired right now, especially from the pressure of Tsar Nicholas I, right now he just wants to go to his room and rest.
"Ready to go back to your chambers your majesty?"
The servant asked, it seemes like he was standing next to the door the entire time.
"Indeed i'm, I'm in need some much needed sleep, these tutors are such a pain"
The servant, not commenting on Alexanders words, guids him to his chambers.
-Meanwhile-
Seeing Alexander leave Nicholas drinks the cup of tea next to him, but it seems to have gone cold.
"I should call for a servant to send another cup of tea, and also, that son of mine. spouting some nonsense about reform, especially the abolition of serfdom, doesn't he realize that such drastic actions will de-stabalize the country and undermine our rule? Its just better to keep the status quo"
"Anyways, time to get back to work, since we need to increase our influence in central asia"
-Back to Alexander-
Back in his chambers, Alexanders determination to reform the russian empire has strengthened, though... its safe to say he is basiclly alone in this endeavor.
"From what I can think of the only way to reform and industrialize the russian empire as soon as possible would be to-"
