The bookstore had gotten balloons and flowers. Isaac hadn’t stopped grinning since they finished setting up, his published book stacked on the table.
It had taken a lot of convincing for Isaac to agree to use his fifteen minutes of fame to publish his book. Only after Sean had read the draft and sent it to his siblings for their honest opinions could they convince Isaac that riding the coattails of Sean’s name wasn’t a mistake, that his book wouldn’t get burned by critics.
Every breakdown during the process afterwards was worth it for this moment.

“We’re going to be so busy tonight, and it’s all your fault,” Olivia complained.
“I’ll buy you cookies,” Isaac promised. “Also, you don’t usually work Tuesdays. You deliberately switched with Terrance to be here.”
“Because I knew you’d buy me cookies,” Olivia said.
