Chương 51: chapter 51 Battle Lasting

The representative of the Immortal World who had been responsible for guarding the threats above the Ascension Stage was immediately alerted after he sensed the tsunami-like qi of the Tiger.

Similarly Xiao Luo and Wu Wei who were currently enjoying their tea in Wu Wei's home at the Eastern Clan also recognized the power of the Tiger. Both of them knew that something big was about to happen. They had an understanding of the power structure of the earth and the Immortal World's influence on their Earth.

They knew that since the Demonic Cultivator of that level had dared to invade despite the presence of the Immortal World representative, either the Demon World had grown strong enough to defy the Immortal World now or they had become desperate enough to attain their objectives.

Either option would lead to an upheaval of the current power structure of Earth which caused them both to be paralyzed with fear and worry.

This eruption of qi and the strong demonic nature of it were also sensed by Lin Xi and the Bluebird who had been hiding close to Mount Xiaobie. Since the Bluebird could not keep what had been happening at the hut from Lin Xi any longer. It decided to stop being stubborn and tell her the truth.

It rushed toward Lin Xi, who had already known that something was wrong, and told her about the attack on the hut in the absence of Zhang Jian. It also told her about the perpetrator Ge Kai, his allies and the humongous aura that it had felt for a fleeting moment.

Although Bluebird had been spilling out all the information, Lin Xi was least interested in its report since from the eruption of that aura earlier, she had already deduced what was happening.

She was incredibly frustrated at what had happened but she knew that she had to let Zhang Jian go back because of two reasons.

Firstly, this situation had caused her to fail in seducing Zhang Jian and she was feeling extremely embarrassed because of that. And secondly, she couldn't just let Ge Kai ruin all her plans, so Zhang Jian was her insurance for that.

She was holding back her anger so as to not let Zhang Jian see how furious she actually was.

The mixture of anger and embarrassment had turned her face all red and it looked quite unnatural to Zhang Jian.

"I think you should go back home. I think I have taken up enough of your time."

Zhang Jian felt that he was being driven out of her home by Lin Xi since she was embarrassed that Zhang Jian had seen her like that. Her angry and frustrated expression had been misunderstood by Zhang Jian as one of awkwardness and embarrassment. He couldn't have been far from the mark.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taking advantage of the chaos of the battle and that each and everyone at the battlefield had his hands full; the Tiger who had just arrived at the scene entered the hut right in front of everyone.

By that time, both Cerberus and the Black Phoenix Jing had been on their last legs. They had already taken out their trump cards and had almost exhausted their strengths. Similar was the case with Wu Ming who had probably earned the most contribution points if the number of the demons hunted were to be taken into account.

No one had any strength remaining to help out Wang Yan because they themselves had been barely holding on against their enemies.

On the other hand, Ge Kai and the World-serpent had received a morale boost after the arrival of the Tiger. Their attacks had started to increase in strength and frequency and were starting to become harder to deal with.

Wang Yan meanwhile had been listening to all the sounds from the battle and was wondering what had been happening outside. She had wanted to go out to help in the fight but sanity struck her when she thought about the motive of the enemies. She knew in her heart that they had come for the Purple Sapphire that was embedded in her sword. She wasn't important enough for the Demon World to have mobilized such a large force just to deal with her.

To Wang Yan, safety of the Purple Sapphire was even more important than her life. She knew that she couldn't let it fall into the hands of the Demons at any cost.

She was still listening intently to the sounds when the door to the hut issued a creaking sound before opening. Wang Yan had not been prepared for the instance when the blockade was breached. She hadn't even considered the possibility of Cerberus and the others losing, after all, she knew that they were stronger than the enemies, if only just based on the aura that they had been emanating.

Previously the presence of Cerberus and the others had allowed her to stay calm but now that someone had crossed those obstacles, fear managed to put its grasp on her. She was terrified of what was about to happen next.

To protect the Purple Sapphire from falling into the wrong hands, she had been clutching her sword to her chest with all the force in her arms. All this while her gaze had never left the door where a shadow could now be seen acting as the herald of the invader.

Following the shadow, a huge figure entered the small hut. The hut seemed to be barely enough to hold such a gigantic body.

The Tiger had entered the hut and was now staring at its target, Wang Yan with bloodthirsty eyes.

Wang Yan at that moment felt the inevitable death that was approaching her with slow steps. She wanted to run but her feet were frozen in fear. No matter how she urged them to move, they stayed glued to the floor.

Her eyes were showing the terror that she could feel to the depth of her soul but no words escaped her mouth even after constantly trying.

The savage and bloody aura that the Tiger emanated was so monstrous that Wang Yan could only shiver in terror. This aura was even stronger than that of her master Xiao Luo therefore; she couldn't bring herself to even think about fighting back.

She just wanted to close her eyes and get it over with instead of fretting about the moment when death would come. The real agony didn't lie in the death but in the wait that preceded it. That was the reason that knowing about one's time of death was the most horrendous torture to have ever existed.
