Unable to sleep, under the torchlight, Artios sat in his armchair in his quarters with the book "Kings and Eras" open on his lap. The king was searching for any advice left by previous kings on how to handle situations like this.

Since the moment he read about the possibility of the Black Eagle nobles declaring support for Athena as the Heir Princess, the king could think of nothing else. Even when he heard the persistent plea from the Acolytes of the Sacred Light, he couldn't stop thinking about the problem.

At this point, any choice he made would lead to war. If he chose Artios as his heir, there was a chance the Eagles would cause a war. If he chose Athena, there was certainty that the nobles associated with the Red Wolves of his father-in-law would incite a war.
