Akira suddenly regretted all the times he prioritized his work, keeping himself busy to cover up his loneliness, thinking that he had no real family that cared for him and whom he could rely on.
He had been a blind fool...
"Can you promise me that?" Mrs. Hagiwara softly questioned.
"She's asking nicely now but if you ever break this promise, just know that she'll be breaking your bones as well so even if it sounds like a request, take this as a threat." Mr. Hagiwara laughed as he added.
Akira wasn't sure if he was joking or seriously warning him but he assumed it to be a mixture of both.
"You don't need to worry about that. If anything, I'm afraid he'll be the one breaking my poor heart. After all, compared to him, I'm still lacking in many ways."
"Don't ever say that!" Mrs. Hagiwara immediately frowned as she scolded "Never put yourself down like that. You're also amazing in your own way and in terms of looks, you are certainly much better."
