Su Mian was just placing the steamed buns on the table when she looked up and saw Qiao Yun, tiredly descending the stairs.
She was dressed simply in a short-sleeved shirt and jeans, clean-cut, with especially white skin, and a pair of calm, beautiful eyes that were spiritlessly half-closed. Her curly lashes seemed listless too.
Su Mian's gaze softened, "Whose beautiful child is this? She's really quite lovely."
Qiao Yun slowly raised her head, her deep black eyes gleaming faintly.
Lu Family's father looked at Qiao Yun with satisfaction, "Indeed my daughter, she looks so much like me."
"I think Sister resembles Mom more," Jingzhi said, his lips curling into a smile.
Regardless of Qiao Yun's temperament, it was undeniable that she was attractive, and anyone would feel drawn to something beautiful.
The atmosphere was as harmonious as if the earlier arguments had never occurred.
Lu Ting clenched her fingers, her gaze lingering on Qiao Yun's exquisitely delicate face for several seconds before she looked away.
Qiao Yun spoke seriously, "According to genetics, I inherit half my genes from each parent, so there's no issue of who contributed more or less, but the Y chromosome and the X chromosome carry different numbers of genes, so…"
Who am I? Where am I?
It was such an ordinary, joyful morning, yet Su Mian suddenly felt the illusion of attending a research conference?
After her explanation, Qiao Yun looked at them expectantly, "Do you understand now?"
Lu Family's father, Su Mian, Jingzhi: "..."

Massaging her head with a headache, Su Mian braced herself and said, "Understood, my daughter is just so smart."
Lu Ting rolled her eyes internally, wondering how long Qiao Yun had memorized that information, just to show off at an opportune moment.
"If you're interested in this knowledge, I can share my organized notes with you another day."
Qiao Yun was reassured, it seemed her first attempt at bonding was successful; the Lu Family really loved learning.
Su Mian's lips twitched.
Someone, please save me!
Lu Family's father cleared his throat, "Let's eat first, it won't taste good once it's cold."
"Right, right, let's eat." Su Mian pulled out a chair for Qiao Yun, silently heaving a sigh of relief.
The struggles of a poor student were something only her husband could understand!
Jingzhi felt a bit relieved, seeing that Qiao Yun wasn't resistant to learning meant there was still hope; he had an idea in mind.
After the meal, Qiao Yun went upstairs and came down later with some things in her arms.
She first approached Su Mian, handing over a bottle of green, skincare cream sealed in transparent glass, pursed her lips and started speaking softly, "Mom, this is a skin-nourishing cream. Apply a little before bed, and it will increase the luster of your skin and even remove wrinkles."
Su Mian didn't catch what Qiao Yun had said afterwards. Stunned for a good while, she only belatedly realized — Qiao Yun had called her Mom?
I'm a Mom!!
Seeing that Su Mian wasn't accepting it, Qiao Yun asked in confusion, "Don't you like it?"
Although Su Mian was nearing fifty, she didn't look old at all, except for some fine wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. Qiao Yun had thought about it for a long time before deciding to give the skincare cream.
"I like it very much," Su Mian suppressed her excitement, looking down.
This green stuff, obviously just haphazardly bottled as an unbranded product, what is it?
Seeing Qiao Yun batting her large eyes, she forced a stiff smile, insincerely exclaiming, "Wow, this color clearly indicates it's a natural, additive-free green... whatever, it must be better than those expensive skincare products sold in stores."
Qiao Yun nodded, "Yes, you can't buy it in stores. Only five bottles were successfully made."
Su Mian thought it was something Qiao Yun had concocted from herbs she picked on the mountainside and carefully held the bottle, "Thank you, my dear daughter, Mom is very happy."
Lu Ting glanced at the skincare cream, not afraid of getting a rash from the non-sterile content, but seeing how happy Su Mian was, she forcefully suppressed the urge to advise against it, lest she end up looking like the bad guy.
