"Where are we going?" Charlotte Cooper's unease intensified, feeling a bit frightened. She looked up at the man beside her with a pale face and asked quietly.
She was already exhausted from the high tension and the stimulation of gunshots, so she really couldn't muster the energy to speak louder.
However, Henry Russell heard her very clearly and gently answered, "You'll know soon."
But this answer wasn't what Charlotte wanted. Feeling somewhat dejected, her expression fell.
What she wanted to know was the full story of today's events; why they were being chased and why they had come here.
But Henry wouldn't tell her.
Feeling very down, a sense of powerlessness swept over Charlotte's body, rendering her immobile.
She began to doubt whether she truly understood Henry, or whether the Henry she understood was the one he wanted her to know.
