"You said that you liked ice skating, not that you would literally be skating circles around me," Bryce complained after falling on his butt for the third time at the ice rink the next morning.
Jenna laughed and helped him up. Again. It had been kind of funny seeing him struggle considering the only other thing she had ever seen him be bad at before this was ping pong and he hadn't been nearly as frustrated then.
"I did practically grow up on the ice."
"Right, you're from somewhere cold. Did you skate in a rink or on a pond?" he asked as he brushed himself off.
"Both," she lied. "I prefer rink skating though. The ice is smoother since they occasionally bust out the Zamboni. You don't get that on a pond."
Jenna had gotten that information from a movie about ice skating she watched when she was younger. She didn't know anything about pond skating from personal experience. She never thought that particular bit of obscure movie knowledge would come in handy.
