"Kaori!" - Shizuku roared as she watched her best friend's body fall to the ground in front of the barrier after being pierced by Ehit's servant's sword.
The sword girl fell to her knees with tears in her eyes as she let out a roar of pain and despair as she watched the red liquid begin to surround her best friend's body - "Kaori!"
The girls expression changed to one of fury, pain and despair as Myu was starting to cry.
Remia quickly let go of Aiko, who was still limp, before running to her daughter and hugging her with all her might.
"Mom! Kaori Onee-chan!" - Myu shouted with tears in her eyes. She had been through a lot during her journey, and had suffered enough to be able to understand what had happened.
"She'll be fine, your father will help her, so don't cry" - Remia murmured as she hugged her baby. She knew that it was possible that her words were a lie, but there was nothing else she could do, mostly because she also wanted to hold on to this little hope.
Kaori had been a sweet girl and a good example for his daughter, not to mention that she was practically his younger sister now that they were all with the same boy.
Tio's pupils sharpened as her body began to expand, showing that she was about to transform into her draconic form.

"Ack," Noint let out a choked moan of pain as the blond continued to squeeze her throat. She could see the veins begin to mark on the blond's scaled arm as she heard her master's mad laughter in her head.

"Kaori..." - Shizuku muttered as she walked over to where her friend's body lay.
"Move, maybe we can do something" - Yue said as she moved the human girl and walked to Kaori to check her body, only to frown when she saw how her companion was still alive, albeit on the edge - "We can still save her, though not in the conventional way..."
"We can still save her!" - Shizuku exclaimed excitedly - "Wait, what do you mean by the conventional way?"
"Kaori's body has been corrupted by the holy power of that apostle's attack, so we won't be able to recover it even with the power of the divine stone, that's why we have to keep her alive until we manage to find a way to be able to transfer her soul to another vessel" - Yue replied as she started to say an incantation - "[Temporary Stasis]!"
Before Shizuku could say anything else, she watched as her friend's body was surrounded by a strange crystal coffin - "Will that help her?"
"Yes, though it's only a momentary patch, and it's not a permanent solution" - Yue replied with a frown - "We have to find a solution as soon as possible because the divine corrosion is still affecting Kaori-san's body"
"Maybe it's a good idea to go to Miledi Raisen, after all, she managed to transfer her soul to that of a golem" - said Shea while tilting her head.
"It's a possible solution" - replied Tio while nodding to her companion's words.
"For now we have to protect ourselves and make sure that none of us is a new time bomb" - said Yue while looking at Aiko, who was still with her vacant stare and the strange mark on her forehead - "We got too confident and didn't think about the possibility that Ehit could keep the strange mark of corruption asleep."
The girls looked at each other with concern, though something inside them told them that none of the original group had been corrupted.
"Anyway, we'd better tell Cloud not to completely destroy that apostle's body" - Yue said seriously.
"You want to use that thing's body as Kaori-san's new vessel?" - Tio repeated with surprise because she didn't expect this.
"Yes, she's perfect to be Kaori-san's new receptacle, besides, from what we've managed to see, the corruption mark only affects the victim's body when it is first imprinted on her soul" - mused Yue while seeing how Aiko was still unresponsive - "In other words, if we quickly transfer Kaori's soul to the apostle's body, she won't be corrupted and her strength will increase drastically."

The girl tried to say something else, when she noticed the cold look on Cloud's face, though it quickly disappeared when she recognized the person who was talking to her.
"I'm sorry" - Cloud muttered as he took a long breath to calm down - "It's just that I'm furious and I can hardly control myself."
Yue did not respond, she just took a few steps back unconsciously because she had never felt such a terrifying presence in her life. It was as if she had been in front of a dark black hole, one that seemed to want to devour everything in its range of effect.
Cloud frowned as he noticed how the girl seemed much paler than usual, though he quickly decided to focus on his little guest again.
"I-I... managed to accomplish my mission..." - Noint said with a small smile over her pale lips. She could feel the blood trying to escape through her mouth, but the blond's grip was making it impossible to pass through her throat - "Ugh... in the end... I ended up winning..."
Cloud's eyes turned red as he increased the strength of his grip, though his expression changed when he heard a familiar chuckle.
[How do you like the gift I gave you, irregular?] said a distorted voice coming from Noint's mouth.
"Ehit!" - Cloud roared as his pupils contracted.
[I told you you'd be sorry, and this is just the beginning, soon, all those people you care about will start dying one after the other, and you won't be able to do anything to stop it] - Ehit said from his apostle with a smirk of superiority - [And you know why? Because I'm a god, I'm the one who controls this damn world, I'm the one who decides who lives or who dies, and you stupidly decided to make me your enemy]]
"Stop, Cloud, don't destroy the apostle's body, she still has use!" - Yue exclaimed as she saw how her beloved's fury was starting to get out of control.
Cloud paused as he shot a blank stare at the vampire girl.
[Is my apostle of any use? I think the grief over that human's death is affecting them more than they think] - Ehit said as he laughed madly, though inside he was frowning because it didn't look like this woman was lying.
"Just remove the apostle's soul, Cloud, trust me" - Yue said with concern.
Cloud was silent for a few seconds before touching the girl's head and using his [Corruption Touch].
Noint and Ehit let out a roar of pain as a dark aura began to surround the apostle's body, in the process causing the mad god to escape as quickly as possible after getting his first taste of the corruption of the abyss.
Cloud felt a little better when he heard Noint and Ehit's cry of anguish, though inside he still felt a little empty. He quickly walked over to where the inert body of the mad god's apostle had fallen before looking at Yue, confused as to why she had told him to just remove her soul.
