Chương 41: CHAPTER 40: Bullets hurt.

The moment Sirin was summoned again he was immediately flooded with the sound of explosions and people screaming.

In truth Sirin had waited for a summoning instead of going to another world on his own because it was such a bother last time. But with how loud everything around him was, he was starting to regret this decision.

In front of him he saw a group of people surrounded by some sort of glowing machinery. Apart from the summoning circle he could barely detect any magic in this world. Despite the rest of the area appearing extremely advanced in contrast to the other worlds that he had been to the circle itself was just carved into the floor and filled with blood.

Sirin looked at the humans in front of him. They all appeared to be scared and distressed, though a few showed a glimpse of triumph.

"Demon!" One of the older men in the crowd yelled out. "We have brought you into this world to stand by our side and turn the tide of war! What is it you ask in return?" The man was thin and frail, his messy white hair looked like he had tried to electrocute himself.

Sirin grinned as he heard the man speak. Yes, a war was what he needed now. "What I want to ask is more then you will ever be able to pay me. So really, it's a favour. Give me a hundred human souls, I don't care how you get them, and I will claim the souls of your enemies in return."

A part of the walls started to collapse due to another explosion and the human quickly sealed the deal without any hesitation.

The moment that he was freed form the summoning circle, Sirin jumped trough the hole in the wall.

Once he got outside, he saw a large group of humans in strange dark uniforms that kind of blended in with the night sky. A few were even standing on some large vehicle.

The humans aimed their guns at him the moment he appeared. Immediately his chest was lightened by the countless number of little red dots.

Sirin sneered, couldn't these humans aim without their little lights? How pathetic was that?

He decided to just take the first few shots, for no other reason than to absolutely terrify the humans. He was fairly confident in his ability to heal, so taking a few bullets wouldn't be that much of a problem.

The weapons of the humans started to make a soft humming noise and when they eventually sot it was almost like they defined time with how many bullets managed to come out after another.

After he had a few of these projectiles nearly pierce his chest he could now say from experience that these bullets in fact did hurt.

He bared his teeth and dashed forward.

He jumped at one of the soldiers and bit trough his throat. While he rushed from victim to victim the humans kept firring. Only the most they had managed to accomplice was that he now had quite a large wound under his ribs.

As the night lit up from all the shots a few of the humans cried out. "What the fuck is that thing?" Or "How in the name of the gods is it still standing?"

In turn, Sirin broke someone's wrist as he slapped them with his tail to get that annoying gun out of their hands while he was busy killing someone else.

The humans that had summoned him stared in horror as the creature that they had just let into this world took out an entire squad on its own.

When Sirin was done and had collected the souls he crawled back into the building. "So, what now? You want to escort me to your base, or would you like me to guard this already destroyed outpost?"

Even if they doubted that this demon was really on their side, they had no choice but to lead him to their base. They were convinced that this creature would find it even without their help and like this they might had a higher chance of winning him over.

Sirin didn't really care. He only needed the souls even I they had asked him to eat a candle for it, he would probably have done it.

They led him to some sort of bunker, only a lot larger than the ones he had seen before this. Surprisingly, there were more species living here than just humans. yes, a lot of them were humanoid but they clearly weren't humans.

Some appeared more amphibian or even bird like. There were even some with horns.

If Sirin had normal looking eyes and didn't carry the scent of hell, he might have fitted in perfectly. However, a few ore monstrous creatures could already tell out of instinct that this being was not from this world. So, they respectfully kept their distance.

"It has been like this once the continents were united." It was the man that had made the deal with him. "We tied to elect a new leader, but Arfros ascended to the throne himself. And drove everyone that stood in is way to the edge of the continents. Now we managed to gain more allies and try to take back what is rightfully ours, but as it turns out, we lack the resources. That's why we summoned you. Your kind has always been described as being the most fit for war"

Sirin shrugged. "I don't care what is going on, or why I'm here. I just need the souls and I couldn't care less about anything else."

"If you say so." The man responded. "By the way, my name is William. You will be able to find me in section C. you will know when you are needed."
