Chương 15: CHAPTER 15: A new world.

As it turned out, killing harpies was a huge pain in the ass. Tough their strength and speed were no match for Sirin, they could fly away the moment they noticed that there was a threat. To ad to this, they were intelligent enough to communicate with each other. Resulting in the entire swarm evacuating the moment Sirin became hostile towards them.

Even with the complications, he had managed to kill five of them. The problem was, he needed fifty more.

Eventually he had just given up. He would just wait until he grew wings himself or kill some other winged creature that wasn't as bothersome as the harpies.

As for magic, he was at least making some progress. He knew how to manifest it now, though he didn't dare to use it.

Magic was just the manifestation of ones will in the physical world. Mana is the force that drives this manifestation and one's consciousness guides the mana. If you didn't know how to spread your consciousness your mana would be stuck in one place and probably blow you up from the inside if you tried to use it.

As for Sirin, he hadn't figured out how to spread his consciousness. Thus, making it extremely dangerous to use magic.

This left him wanting to go back to a human world even more. Though Amanda had never been able to use magic, she knew of humans who could. Maybe he could learn how to spread his consciousness there, and if not, he might learn a different way of using magic.

After a few days staying by Amanda's side, he made his way towards one of the altars. He had chosen one that was pretty close by, so that if he came back right after a fight, he would have a much easier time getting home.

This time the portal opened relatively quickly; he was able to get summoned after just a day. The only thing that he saw as odd, was the thick scent of blood coming from it.

He didn't give much attention to that and rushed through.

The moment his feet touched solid ground again he was standing in a dark room. it was nothing like the one he had been summoned to before. The walls were smooth and shiny. There were no candles, instead the light came from rectangles that hung on the ceiling that made a low buzzing noise.

In front of him was a demon surrounded by human corpses. The demon was clearly dying and couldn't even speak, much less make a deal to allow Sirin to properly enter this world.

Sirin couldn't help but frown as the light faded from the demon's eyes. Now he wouldn't be able to enter this world and he would have to wait who knew how long for the next summoning.

But instead, being send back to hell after the only intelligent creature died, he was still in the summoning circle, which meant that there was still something in this room.

"There is no need to hide." Sirin spoke in an almost singing tone. "I know you are here, come on out!"

He grinned from ear to ear as a young man crawled out of the pile of corpses. He was wounded and heavily bleeding. The only reason why he had been able to survive was because he had hidden under the corpses of his companions until the battle with the other demon was over.

Judging from the situation it was pretty clear that that demon had realised that it couldn't win this fight and had thus tried to call for aid, only to be killed before Sirin could do anything.

"Come on human, don't be shy. There must be something you want, something that I can do for you. All I need is for you to make a deal with me."

The human hesitated and held his weapon a little tighter. It was a weapon that Sirin had never seen before, it was completely black, and it didn't have a string or a blade.

The human pointed the weapon at Sirin. Though he should be able to hold it in one hand he held it in two and yet he was still shaking.

Sirin sighed. "Look, I'm not the strongest demon there is, but I must be able to do something for you. All you have to do is let me in."

"Even if that means helping me out of here and killing your own kind?"

"Of course!" Sirin laughed. "I'm willing to do whatever as long as the price is high enough. And I doubt that this pile of bones in front of me is going to give me a higher offer."

The human took a step back and lowered his weapon. "Then what you want?"

"Didn't I say that earlier? I want you to let me into this world! Don't worry, I won't need your soul, I'm sure that I can make up for that on my own."

"So, you will help me escape, and defend me against your own kind, while not needing any sort of payment?"

"Exactly. Do we have a deal?" Sirin stook out his hand and waited for the human to take it.

The human looked behind him. Most certainly he had heard something that Sirin couldn't. This was mainly due to the summoning circle that prevented him from properly interacting with this world.

Seemingly motivated by this sound the human hastily grabbed Sirin's hand.

Now that the deal was sealed Sirin happily jumped out of the circle. He could hear the sounds of approaching footsteps as well now. however, he could hardly care about them. He swiftly grabbed the dozen of human souls that were just laying around and followed the human out of the room.

He was a bit disappointed that the soul of the demon that had been killed here hadn't appeared. But that wasn't that much of a problem. Once he was home again, he could kill some demons himself.
