Chương 86: Predator -2
"I want the tall boy!" Bucky said loudly and his feet moved towards the Predator who did the same thing.
"Well then, I get the other one!" Steve said with a sigh and moved at the Taskmaster who is also on her feet.
Two winter soldiers who once fought together and trained together, collided again after many years. Their hatred, their fight and their ferociousness is like two angry lions fighting for their survival.
"SWISSH!" Bucky pulled his army knife at the last minute as a surprise tactic and attacked directly at the neck of the predator. However, the predator just ignored the incoming attack and at the last moment, simply shifted his neck slightly making the knife only scratch his natural body armour before he grabbed the face of Bucky and pushed it down on the ground.
Pounding punch after punch on Bucky as if he is ready to crush his skull, Predator kept increasing his speed and strength in the process. Bucky raised his hands to protect his face and then he grabbed one of the punches and used both his hands to break the wrist.
"AAAH!" This is the first time Predator felt real pain. Freeing himself from more attacks, Bucky decided to exploit the current opportunity. However, fate had other plans.
"BOOOOOOOOMMMM!"
A huge explosion that started a chain of explosions around the facility threw all four fighters to the ground and destroyed a large area of the forest there. The entire land is blinded by a huge bright light and then the shockwave hit again.
All the four fighters felt their body tearing apart before the shockwave passed.
The silence covered the empty area and now one can even hear the breathing of all four enhanced individuals.
Predator and Taskmaster who were on the one side, at this moment started running for their Quinjet which had shifted to one side because of the explosion. They knew they had fulfilled their mission and the more time they spent here, the more difficult it will become later to escape.
Watching their enemies running away, Steve asked Martha to simply attack them with all the Falcon drones before he and Bucky nodded to each other and started chasing them.
The taskmaster could not use her suit properly and because of broken spinal connections, it jerked from time to time making her unable to gain any speed. Plus the new damage from Steve had broken the shoulder pads and gave her immense pain in her knee joints.
Steve while running towards the Taskmaster noticed a sharp shining knife on the ground and he immediately grabbed it and threw it accurately at the sparking area of the Taskmaster's suit. The knife broke the spinal connections on the suit of Taskmaster and made it impossible for her to run with it.
Bucky meanwhile had used all his strength to rush faster than ever and before Predator could jump inside his Quinjet, threw himself at him.
Grabbing him by his waist, both the enhanced fighters rolled inside the Quinjet but Predator jumped on his feet before Bucky could and then used a chair to hit Bucky on his chest effectively throwing him out of the Quinjet.
However, before he could take a breath, multiple Falcon droned just crashed on his Quinjet bombarding it repeatedly.
Bucky covered his face to protect himself and after the noises died down, he saw the burning debris of the Quinjet on the ground. He turned his head to find Steve fighting with the Taskmaster, the girl, without her suit. She is wearing a skintight suit but that is far from anything that could deflect or reduce the strength of Steve's attacks.
After a direct kick to her stomach area, the taskmaster flipped on the ground like a stone jumping on a pond surface, before sliding to a large distance and stopping in end. Bucky's emotions were quite complex at this moment. He knew the girl is somehow controlled and is unaware of her actions but still, she is the one who killed the entire team of researchers inside the facility.
It is like watching himself on the opposite side of the mirror. Can he forgive this girl or can others forgive him for his own actions in the past?
Before he could think more about this, both Steve and Bucky heard a loud noise from the burning debris of the Quinjet.
"BOOM!"
A metal piece flew high in the air before falling to one side and a figure rose from the ground. The predator, rising from the debris, looked like an enraged monster. His suit was broken off in many places and his eyes were dark red like the blood itself.
He stood up in the burning fire and looked at the scene and let out a big laugh. Tearing his suit away he cracked his broken wrist to fix it in place and then gestured for our heroes to come and attack him.
Bucky lost his composure looking at him and decided to end this guy for the good. Steve also saw Predator and decided to join in the fight. After all, his opponent is already down and Predator constantly showed a battle instinct and physique higher than Bucky.
Both the partners attacked Predator at the same time, but Predator deflected their attacks easily. Using his speed and strength, he avoided many attacks from both Steve and Bucky but constantly landed his attacks on their injured areas.
He tried to hit Steve with a straight jab but this time, Steve ducked and grabbed his hand before Bucky jumped from Steve's back and landed a direct hit on Predator's face. This changed the rhythm of the battle and in the next fifteen minutes, the duo hit the Predator one after another solid hit.
Finally, Bucky hit him with a headbutt that disoriented Predator completely and Steve finished him with a straight kick to his chest. This finally pushed the Predator to the ground and he lost his consciousness.
