|3rd POV|
Everything has gone to shit in Westeros. Another war has come to the continent, and they are coming hard this time. Five kings have been declared in this war. The king on the Iron Throne, Joffrey Baratheon/Lannister. The king in Highgarden, Renly Baratheon. The king in the North and Trident, Robb Stark. The king in the Narrow Sea, Stannis Baratheon. Lastly, the king in the Distant Land, Viserys Targaryen.
The first four have the intention to become king, and only Viserys is dragged by the other nobles into this mess unwillingly.
Crownland and Westerland declared their allegiance to the king on the Iron Throne. Dragonstone Alliance declared their allegiance to the king in the Narrow Sea. The Reach declared their allegiance to the king in the Highgarden. The North and the Riverlands declared the king in the North and Trident as their king. Dorne and part of Vale declare the king in Distant land as their king.
Sitting on the wooden throne is Robb Stark and in front of him is his vassal, who is currently fighting over which plan they should use.
"We should attack Vale! They are currently in a civil war against the people who swear to the dragon! They are weak and we can defeat them with ease and secure all the north for ourselves."
"Are you an idiot?! If we attack them, our backs will be exposed! What if they decide to use a ship and attack us from the flank?! We cannot have that."
Robb decides to let his vassals talk to each other and only listen for a moment. His father once said that a good leader needs to listen because even though it sounds like nonsense, you might find something useful in the conversation you hear.
After a few minutes of soothing, Lord Bolton had enough and released a shout.
"Shut up! Do you have any respect?! You are shouting in front of your king!"
At his word, the other lord shut their mouth and looked at their young king.
"I have heard enough. We are currently riding with momentum and cannot stop to attack Vale but at the same time, we cannot ignore them. I think we should send a thousand or a thousand and three hundred men to secure our flank from the Dragon-Loyalists in Vale. I will give this task to Lord Locke for he is the one who has more experience in Vale than any of us."
The said lord gets up and gives Robb a small bow. Lord Locke spent his youth fighting the mountain clan in Vale as a sword before returning to his duty as an heir to Locke House. He knows the geography of Vale as he grows in that place.
"Good. We will continue to go south and meet the Lannister army in the middle of the kingdom, in the Crossroad. Speaking of crossroads, have House Darry and House Roote declare which side they will be on?"
Just like promised, Riverland will give some part of the trident to Lunaria and use it as a neutral ground for anyone who uses it, and they are keeping neutral even to Viserys.
"No, my lord. These two houses will not break their promise of maintaining a neutral ground."
"I see. A shame but at least they will not support the south as well. Very well. We will go south tomorrow and use the canal my Good Brother Edmure built."
They know that Edmure is not the one who made the canal but rather the Lunaria kingdom, but they will never admit that because currently, they are an enemy to the north.
"We are fighting against time. We cannot let the Lannister use the canal to their advantage. We need to arrive there as fast as possible and create a fortification. Stop the Lannister before they step into the north."
Robb is glad that Edmure made that canal because he knows that he and his army will have a hard time crossing the bridge House Frey have. They will make his life harder and will not let his army go through their bridge, and he needs to do something for him first before they can go south.
It would take some time to build the ship to fit all of his armies, but it was preferable to wait for Frey to open up their gate for him and his army.
"We will send part of our soldiers first to the south and build the fortification using the ship Edmure prepared for us. They will be waiting for us on the canal near the Twin. There will be four ships that can take more than a thousand men. That should be good enough to scout the land and fortify it to welcome the Lannister."
While Robb and his vassal are talking about strategy and how to move quickly, Lord Tywinis is rubbing his head as a headache appears. He did not want this war, but his idiotic daughter decided to execute Lord Stark and spark the war they were currently in.
Lannister cannot afford a large and long war because of an internal problem. The people of Dorne are still poisoning their water supply and making their crops yield even worse each year. This year, they cannot feed their people, let alone a marching army.
However, Tywin also cannot let the others see Lannister as a weak house that did not join the war. Because of this, Tywin spends a large portion of his savings on buying a lot of food from across the world.
Sadly for him, the only place willing to sell him food is Braavos. It cost him double the amount of gold to buy food from Braavos than when he bought food from Highgarden. With the war, he cannot buy food from many places. Vale, Riverland, and Dorne are out of the question because they are currently enemies or have always been an enemy, in the case of Dorne.
Tywin releases a sigh and then looks to his son, Jaime, and says.
"Don't fuck this up."
That is the only thing Tywin says to his son before he sees him walk away from his room. He let his son, leading half of the Lannister Army to the north to hold the Stark and his army while he took the rest to defend the Iron Throne in King's Landing.
He still left a couple of thousand men under his brother's care to protect Westerland from Tyrell.
He wants this war to end quickly as he has many problems waiting for him. He gets up from his seat and takes out the helmet on the table. The Old Lion is ready for war once more; this time, he will show the world that he still has fangs and claws.
He does not know that his biggest enemy is not Tyrell but rather the snake who is waiting for this moment to strike. When Doran Martell hears about Tywin's departure to help fight against Tyrell, who is marching to Storm's End, he smiles a little.
He looks at his brother and says,
"Oberyn, it is the right time to strike."
"Oh?"
"We will have our revenge. Take five hundred men and disguise themselves as common folks."
"You want me to infiltrate Casterly Rock?"
"Not only that, I want you to infiltrate Lannisport and Clagane Hall and burn them to the ground. With most of the Lannister army gone, we can burn their city one by one. I also need you to kill all of Tywin's family who are still in westerlands."
"I like that plan."
Oberyn drinks all the wine in his glass and gives her brother a large grin.
"I'm in."
