Chương 6: Chapter 6

Her voice filled the place and Hendrick wondered what kind of human being she was. He could not believe his ears when she had asked him that absurd question. He thought for a moment that she was joking and with an absurd smile, he brushes it aside while feeling that the effect of almost drowning had affected her brain so he took her up from the ground to place her well so that she could sit upright and feel better but he discovered that, her eyes had not left his sight and based on what he was seen, she was not going to stop staring at him.

"I need to take you home so that you can have some rest and feel better," Hendrick mumbled softly but Daniella feeling all sad, told him to let go of her and that he should have left her to drown together with her problems. Standing there and list looking at her, he wondered what kind of human being she was and the gravity of the problems she might be having which could push her to want to take her own life but there were no answers for him because she was very stubborn.

"Are you usually this stubborn?" he yelled out in anger and frustration and Daniella not liking his tone, told him never to shout at her, never. She rose to her feet and told him to get out of her sight and to take the car along with him.

"That is what you wanted right? Take it and leave me alone because I know this is is what you wanted to get from me and that is why you threatened my life with the knife you were holding so you might as well take it and leave me to die in my sorrow," she said, walking pushing him with the little strength that she had left.

It was terrible to see such a beautiful young lady like her, go through all that she was going through without being able to lay his hands on the actual problem talk less of being able to help her. Hendrick could feel the pain she was going through in her voice and for someone like her to want to commit suicide, it means that the stress she must be passing through is something huge. Seeing her behave like that and later sat on the sand crying bitterly, he felt super bad giving attention to what she had said because it was not his intention to come off bad before her. Ever since he started his pickpocket livelihood, he had never felt bad for any rich victim he has had in the past but there was just something about her that made the difference.

She was arrogant but I'm comprehensive. He could tell that she was going through so much though one could look at her with so much envy based on the things which she has. Her entire life seems to be in shambles and she could not help herself and that is why committing suicide is the only escape she had found it.

Letting out a deep sigh and going down on his knees to her level since she was sitting on the ground, Hendrick, not wanting to piss her off the more, moved his lips slowly and softly, he asked what her name was and her home address so that he could take her back home for her to have some rest.

"Please do not lash out your anger on me, I am not amongst those or the person who has put you into this state, but I can assure you that I can listen to you if you give me the chance to because, I am not as bad as you see me," the words fell out of his mouth.

Giving attention to his calm words, Daniella had become very calm and was beginning to feel better after perceiving the sincerity in his eyes which was just simply amazing. She had judged him based on his first impression but after listening to what he had to say, her whole conception of him had changed and she was feeling more relaxed than she was before.

Asking whether he could take her back home, Daniella insisted on remaining at the beach as her home was not the best place to be at that particular moment and she did not want to go back there. Hendrick not wanting to force anything on her, thought of leaving her there and going back home but again, he felt that if he does that, she might run back into the water so he asked her whether he could sit up properly beside her so that they could have a little chit chat and Daniella responding without even looking at him, gave him the impression that he what he was thinking was correct.

"It won't be advisable for you to stay in the cold for too long. You are wet and so as your clothes, you need to keep warm," he spoke out being concerned for her but to Daniella, nothing made sense to her anymore so she just wanted to have lived her way.

"I am called Hendrick and you?" he let outstretching his hand towards her and she just sat there hesitating whether or not she was going to fulfill that formality after some seconds of thinking, she breathe in heavily as though her life was being put on life support and exhaling the air she had breath in, she responded,

"Call me Daniella," the words came out of her mouth finally. He was happy to know that she was getting relieved bit by bit and that was something that will make her cheer up as they sit there looking at the full moon and enjoying the cold breeze that was blowing from every direction, giving an aura of calmness with

Hendrick lost in Daniella's beauty.

"Any news about my daughter Anna?" Mr. Mc Bright asked but she had no information yet of her whereabouts and all she was praying in her heart at that time was for Daniella to be safe and sound wherever she is.
