Chương 9: Ch 9 Power Rangers
Chapter 9
I arrived in an Asian-looking monastery similar to Kamar-Taj but there are 7 magnificent spires.
The spires seem to have no entrances at the bottom, but instead, have large open windows decorating the top.
Just then a large billowing plume of green mist with a barely discernible face flew out of one of the windows on a left-hand side spire.
It was turned and flew towards us. It crashed into the floor in front of us and exploded into a quick burst of mist.
It then quickly reformed itself into an old bald monk wearing dark green robes that look like they had once been illustrious but now aged and falling apart.
He bowed briefly to the Ancient One and she bowed back to him. He then looks at me curiously.
"Hello Sir I am Chen Yang, a soothsayer from China, I have a mission and wish to gain access to your mist powers" I say bowing to him.
"So wish to drink the Brew of the Mists, if you have magic why do you need more?" the old man said.
"No sir, my heart chakra is damaged beyond repair"
I continue on
"Good sir I need some method to teleport or travel vast distances if I am to stop the disasters from my visions"
He looks at me with a look in his eye that I can't make out.
"I'm Dorji Green, one of the Council of 7 as Kamar-Taj we protect the world from those who threaten it" he said.
"I must first talk to the rest of the council then we will test you make sure you are strong enough to wield the power of the mist" Dorji said
"Thank you very much, Dorji" I say
He then turns to mist and flies into the central tower which is the most magnificent of the spires.
A loud bell rings out so loud that my head vibrates.
5 plumes of colored mists come out of the towers aside from one Dorji came out of before and flew into the center tower.
Blue, Yellow, Pink, White, and Black
Are these guys the power rangers?
"The bell calls them from wherever they are in the world" said the Ancient One.
After 10 minutes I and Ancient One knew it might take a while so I took out a table and chairs as well as a teapot and cups.
"Why is my heart chakra shattered?" I ask
"I'm unsure, a chakra gate doesn't break unless put under enormous strain, the heart chakra is the gate of rebirth"
If what the Ancient One said is right then I'd guess it was from the experience of being reborn or meeting god or something.
We continue to chat about various topics.
After a further 2 hours, Dorji reappears in an explosion of green mist, this time without a trail like he had teleported.
"We the Council of 7 have decided to test you on the grounds that you were brought by the Ancient One" he said
"And that's my cue to leave, good luck yang. I hope the next time I see you it's in a puff of mist" the Ancient One said before walking through a portal.
Dorji started walking through the compound tattered robes billowing behind him.
"Follow me"
I was led to an open courtyard with intricate designs of what looked like birds being swallowed by smoke or in this case mist.
"You will fight me to prove yourself" He stated as he took a stance.
"Will the others watch ?"
"The other members of the council are on missions or engrossed in their studies, your evaluation has been left to me"
With no countdown, he jumped into action and moved in to strike me.
First, he went to punch me but I grabbed his arm tight and tried to knee him in the stomach.
I hope he can't transform with someone touching him, but his form slips through my grasp and I just kneed nothing.
He reforms behind me and goes for the punch again.
I take the hit but quickly elbow him in the nose without looking.
I hear the noise associated with his transformation but when I turn around he's gone.
Suddenly a heavy ax kick comes down on my left shoulder as he falls from the sky.
I feel the bones in my shoulder crack, but with my RES I grab him with my arm and go for a kick straight across his face.
There seems to be a time limit of about 2 seconds from which he can't transform back into the mist.
I go for another kick but he manages to slip out as mist again he goes back to a couple of meters ahead of me, I see now that I broke his nose.
I throw my daggers at him with my right hand and I use the bladed ones.
He dodges them without the mist then charges at me.
But he doesn't know I pulled an Itachi and threw the daggers at different speeds to bounce one of them back at him.
Come on LVL 52 marksmanship don't fail me now.
He screams out "Aggh" he falls to his knees with a dagger sticking out of his back.
Ding LVL 54 Marksmanship
2 level-ups at once that's rare, but to be fair I never tried that before. It must be the luck of the Irish even if I'm technically Chinese.
A white mist appears from the side, and transforms into a young catholic priest with dark circular shades on and slicked black hair.
"Impressive" the priest says.
He heads over to Dorji and starts mending his wound with bandages and some sort of herbal medicine.
"Takes some skill to boomerang a knife like that, I didn't see it coming" said Dorji
I looked at the priest and asked.
"I thought Dorji was only one of you who'd be here"
"I was curious about our guest. Thought I'd watch your exam, and now I'm happy I did" Said the priest with a toothy grin.
"Pardon my manners I'm Father Joshua White"
"Are all your last names based on the color of your mist?" I asked.
"As members of The Council of 7 we change last names to the colors of our souls" Joshua stated with more smiles.
Strange I hope I don't have to do that also I wonder what color is my soul
"Since Dorji is indisposed at the moment i'll conduct the second part of your test follow me"

I finally published last night
Got tons of view really quick honestly surprised me
And a bunch of comments giving me a rush of dopamine so thanks
Decided to do more chapters I'm not going to post this often when I get out of quarantine
I was thinking 1 chap a week or every 3 days as a regular schedule
First super powered Fight scene hope it was good open to criticism on it
Also since I took out Observe I decided to put future heroes stats
I have a bunch done for reference Might change in the future
