If that happened then we would be here for another hour at the least and no bout Erza would be kept waiting. "As much as I want to ravish you I think we'd better get dressed."

She quirked an eyebrow then pressed her chest up against me further. "I think a quick bit of fun will do no harm. He certainly looks like he needs it."

Julia walked out fifteen minutes later in a short white dress with gold trimming and emerald embroidery in the nature-like patterns. She had done up her bun and wore two emerald earrings that were in the shape of leaves. She had also put on some makeup though it wasn't that visible and I could tell it was mainly to emphasize and enhance her already attractive features

"What do you think?" She asked. "I told the maids not to bother us, so I had to do it myself, but I think I did fine."

"You look amazing as always," I commented which earned me a bright smile.

I walked over and held out an arm. "My lady?"

She gave me a playful smack before wrapping her hand around my bicep like I'd seen done in movies and other fiction. "Flatterer."

"Just speaking the truth," I replied as we left the room and headed to the dining room.

To my surprise and confusion, they were a group of maids waiting outside the door with nervous expressions on their faces.

Julia sighed when she spotted them. "As I said I can take care of myself for a single morning. Do you see any problems?"

The maids shook their heads but still looked nervous until Julia promised them she wouldn't obstruct their work anymore.

"What was that about?" I asked.

"They are afraid my mother will find out," Julia replied with a sigh. "My mother does not like those who do not act or do as they should. If you are a cleaner then she expects you to clean, and if you are a cook she expects you to cook. It sounds obvious but what I mean is-"

"That she doesn't like those who slack of," I finished.

"Exactly, but to a much greater degree," Julia said. "Now enough talk of that, let us have breakfast and then we can tour the city in my carriage."

"Sounds like a plan," I agreed.

We found Erza in the dining room, already stuffing her face with what looked like a very thick waffle covered in melted chocolate, strawberries, and cream. My stomach grumbled at the sight and Julia giggled. "Have two of those brought out."

One of the maids nodded and hurried off as Julia and I took seats next to each other.

"You look like you're having a pleasant time," Julia remarked as she shot Erza a bemused smile.

Erza nodded happily. "You weren't lying when you said I could have the maids bring me baked treats. They have so much variety here. I stayed up until midnight just trying different things"

"As I said before," Julia replied. "My mother hired some of the best cooks and bakers this city has. I think only the royalty of this kingdom has it as good as us and perhaps some of the higher nobility."

"Are we still going out today?" Erza asked hopefully.

"We are," I said as the maid returned with two trays which she set down in front of me and Julia. She removed the top and placed down two plates in front of me and Julia along with several cups filled with different toppings from melted chocolate, honey, cream, strawberries, and more.

"I've never had this," Julia noted as she began to decorate her own waffle or whatever it was called here.

We dug into our breakfast happily and I couldn't help but be excited for what we might find in the city. The possibilities were endless, and with Julia and Erza I had no doubt it would be a good time.
