I don't have anything for him and I can swear that we are just friends and nothing more," I said and when he returned his gaze to me, I reached out and I grabbed his hands. 

I could see it so clearly in his eyes that he was starting to believe me and that made me have more courage to keep talking but just when I was about to utter another word, he removed his hands from mine with his gaze now burning.

He gazed at me and as I saw him the change in his expression I subconsciously swallowed.
