Chương 18: Escape

Swoosh! At the next moment a broadsword was swung and several knights were cleaved in halves!

"Attack!"

"Defend the lord!"

"Yaaa!!" All sorts of cries echoed abruptly and the knights leapt into action.

Deodomus' body enlarged as he used Yeti Power technique and fought these knights brutishly.

Within half a minute, all the knights were dead as fuck. Deodomus grabbed milf Xiao and stowed her in his spatial ring. Next, he looked for the exit. The door had appeared but was flickering between visibility and invisibility. Deodomus turned his neck and glanced at Xong.

Swoosh! Deodomus escaped before Xong could regain his footing. The door was broken through forcefully and Xong could not stop Deodomus.

Swish! Swish! Deodomus moved swiftly & soon barged into a certain room.

"Eh? Captain!" Two guards spoke in unison as they looked at Deodomus. The latter was still wearing his stolen uniform and helmet.

"You two…" Deodomus stared at the two guards. These two were currently raping princess Yana and her maid. The two girls were helpless but had lewd expressions on their pretty faces.

"W-we can explain!" One of the guards spoke.

Swoosh! A broad sword appeared and swung in air, cleaving their heads. Blood splattered everywhere. Before the two dumbfounded girls could react, they were pulled into Deodomus' spatial ring. He had just kidnapped princess Yana. She was going to be his hostage and this could help him escape.

Swish! Deodomus then quickly sprinted out of the room.

"There he is! Get him!" Xong shouted as limped, escorted by a group of guards and knights. He had followed Deodomus' tracks and caught up with him already.

"Hmph!" Deodomus didn't fight. His sole focus was on escape. He ran everywhere. But wherever he went, there was a group of guards or knights. He couldn't tangle with them as that might delay him and let other enemies catch up.

Ultimately Deodomus ran towards the basement.

"Oh no! Stop him! He's going for the phoenix!" Xong was a wise man. He immediately understood Deodomus' intention.

"Too late suckers!" Deodmus shouted and leapt into the basement.

Boom!!! Moments later the entire floor up above blew up in a fiery explosion!

Kreeee!!!! The phoenix screeched and exhaled a river of fire as it flew up and glared at all those humans who had kept it captive all this time.

Bwoosh!! Fire danced everywhere.

"Fall back!" Xong shouted.

"Defend the lord!" Someone shouted. The guards and knights huddled around Xong as they all retreated.

"Hmmmm!!!" Xong grunted aloud as he aimed his open palm towards the phoenix casting a wide ranged illusion. Immediately in phoenix's sight, everyone disappeared. It was all alone in the spacious hall.

Bwoosh! Boom! It hurled a fireball at the roof and it exploded into smithereens and the phoenix flew up towards the sky.

"Not so quick, you beast!" Xong hadn't given up yet. From his spatial ring he summoned a thick chain made of special metals and he swung it around before hurling it up towards the phoenix. The chain wound around the phoenix's leg and Xong then pulled on it with all his strength.

All the guards and knights joined in, grabbing the chain and pulling the phoenix down. They were still invisible in the phoenix's eyes. It could feel something pulling it down by the leg but it couldn't even see the chain. Thus confused, the phoenix breathed out fire randomly and collided against the broken roof. Large chunks of debris fell down, implicating some of the guards. A messy struggle followed.

Meanwhile outside, Zen was alerted. He looked towards the palace the roof of which had just blown up from the middle. Frowning he used his observational technique and immediately leapt towards the palace leaving the naked Lyra behind.

"There is trouble in the palace! Let's go!" A soldier exclaimed.

"No. We hold our position here until we receive different orders from our superiors." Another man said. "Maintain the defense line!"

"Yes, colonel Rai!" The soldiers shouted and followed the orders. Rai was the second in command after Zen. He had a lanky built, squared jaw & ginger eyes.

As the soldiers followed the orders, Rai nodded and then took off his clothes shamelessly and pounced on Lyra, raping her heatedly.

"Ugh, Gen bastards I will kill you all!" Lyra shouted while struggling futilely.

"Haha, bitch, General Zen had been too easy on you. You have to know what we usually do to captured warrior women." Rai sneered and punched Lyra before summoning a toothy blade from his spatial ring and glared at her.

"Ahhhh!!!" Soon Lyra's blood curdling scream echoed.

"Lance barrage!" Zen shouted throwing multiple lances up towards the phoenix with great speed and accuracy.

Kriii!!! The phoenix cried out in pain as it was stabbed by the lances. Orange blood flowed down as the phoenix frantically fluttered its wings and exhaled fire towards the floor.

"Chi shield!" Xong shouted, expending large amounts of his chi and manifested a shield like barrier over everyone. The flames were blocked by this shield. Phoenix hurled flames for a while before attempting to fly up again.

"Pull!!" Xong shouted again and everyone pulled harder, trying to bring the phoenix down.

"Glad you came, Zen! Let's beat this phoenix quickly!" Xong said.

"As you command, my lord!" Zen shouted resolutely and resumed hurling powerful attacks on the phoenix again.

Their plan was simple. Either badly injure the phoenix and capture it again. Or kill it! Soon of course, the phoenix would reincarnate from its own ashes. As a newborn, it'll be very easy to capture and contain it.

Meanwhile outside, a man walked towards the Gen troops. He was all alone, wearing white clothes and a simple tunic. He was old and his heart was beating madly in fear & thrill. He was Ming Sheng the military doctor & the current leader of the Wyre battalion.

"Dr. Ming! Please come back! We cannot fight them!" Someone shouted from behind.

"Yes, Ming Sheng, let's retreat!"

Ming's eyebrows twitched. He was not a good man. But he was not as shameless as these scoundrels behind him. He simply could not bear the guilt of leaving Lyra in the hands of enemy. But he was not a powerful warrior. He was a doctor who professed in saving lives, not taking them. Thus, he was filled with fear, facing an army all by himself.

"Hah…hah…" Ming breathed faster. He was anxious and sweating.

"I've lived long enough anyway. This way of dying is not bad. At the very least I should buy Lyra a chance at escape." Thinking so, Ming Sheng raised his right hand towards the enemy fortress.

"Sir Rai! There's a lone enemy at the fronts. He's walking straight here." A captain informed Rai. But at the next moment he was stunned. On the floor he saw Lyra in a pool of blood. All her limbs had been amputated! She was writhing on the floor, howling in pain while Rai was chuckling.

"That must be some crazy man tired of living. Kill him off." Rai waved his hand dismissing the captain. Next, he force-fed a pill to Lyra and her open wounds rapidly healed. Her eyes however were red in anger, humiliation and sorrow.

"You monster!" Lyra cursed while crying. Cutting off a warrior's limbs was akin to crippling them. What use was their chi and techniques if they had no limbs to use them?

"Hehehe! You still have a sharp tongue, eh? I should cut it too and turn you into a complete fuck-doll." Rai said whipping out a knife.

Boom!! The walls of the fortress shook heavily. A giant crocodile beast stormed its way in, killing several soldiers. It was at Master realm and had a thick armor-like skin. No weapons could harm it. It posed a great threat.

Standing upon its back was Ming Sheng. He had been keeping this beast in his spatial ring ever since the battle of Vrime city. Of the originally 4 beasts that Han Mo had brought, only this crocodile beast was left. In that batlle, it was injured and thus Ming Sheng was asked to keep it to heal it. In the current battle, it became Ming Sheng's trump card allowing him to pierce through the enemy lines and imposingly entering the fortress.

Bam! Bam! Bam! Ming Sheng threw several jars of liquified poison gas. As the jars shattered, poison spread quickly. It was not entirely deathly. It disoriented the Gen soldiers and turned them temporarily blind. Ming Sheng had already consumed its antidote and his beast mount was naturally immune to it. As such, Ming continued to barge in.

Boom! The crocodile broke through another wall but was immediately swarmed by hundreds of Advanced realm warriors. A heated battle occurred. Meanwhile Ming Sheng had abandoned the beast and was swiftly dodging the opponents as he sprinted around, looking for Lyra.

As he turned a corridor he suddenly froze, staring at the scene before him. Lyra was on all-fours. Her limbs had been reduced to mere stumps. Her face was red and she was moaning while smiling as a man fucked her from behind.

"There he is! Get him!" Suddenly soldiers shouted as they caught up with Ming Sheng. Immediately, he was surrounded by experienced warriors.

"Fuck!" Ming Sheng threw another jar on the floor. Dense poisonous smoke spread around quickly. Grunting and metallic sounds echoed as small chaos ensued.

"Wind blast! Rai shouted as he shot a blast of wind from his palm towards the smoke, successfully dissipating it.

"Where is that man?!" Rai shouted as he looked around. But then he realized that Lyra was no longer in his grasp! In fact, she was nowhere to be seen.

"What is that woman?!" Rai shouted again as he got up and looked around furiously. Suddenly his eyes became unfocused, his face turned blue and he fell down on the floor. He was dead.

Swish! Swish! Ming Sheng sprinted with full speed but he didn't know where to go. Behind him were thousands of soldiers and he was inside the enemy fortress. At every corner there were soldiers and guards.

Moments ago, Ming Sheng had managed to pull off a feat. He not only dodged his opponents but also rescued Lyra, stowing her in his spatial ring and even managed to poison Rai with a dart, killing him in a few. But now he was in a dangerous situation.

"Intruder! Get him!" Someone spotted Ming Sheng and gave chase. Within a minute there were numerous soldiers chasing after him.

Ming Sheng turned a corner and disappeared. The soldiers kept looking for him but couldn't find him again. Meanwhile there was a man clinging to the roof of the corridor. He was Deodomus who had swept Ming Sheng into his spatial ring moments ago. Next, he released him and jumped down on the floor.

"Funny seeing you here, doctor." Deodomus jested.

"Deodomus! The plan went horrible on our side. This war is lost! What about your part? Where are Xiao & Kyle?" Ming Sheng asked.

"In my ring. They have lost their minds temporarily." Deodomus said darkly and sighed. "Let's escape first. I'll tell you in detail later on."

Saying so, Deodomus led the way to another corridor. Meanwhile the fortress and palace were in chaos. A beast was rampaging outside and another was rampaging inside. Everyone had their hands full. This gave Deodomus and Ming Sheng ample chance to move around.

Soon Deodomus spotted a warrior statue and nodded.

"There it is!" He exclaimed and swiftly approached the statue before pushing it aside. Behind it, there was a secret path's door on the wall. Ming Sheng was stunned as he saw this.

"How did you know about this secret path?" Ming Sheng enquired.

"I tortured an assassin here to gain all sorts of information." Deodomus lied. He had actually gained this information from the spy earlier and sold Wyre troops information in exchange.

The two men speedily traversed through the hidden path. Along the way they did not encounter any trouble. Deodomus was slightly stunned.

"Could it be that Xong was overconfident in getting rid of us? Thus, he did not take precautionary measures such as putting obstacles in this pathway or simply collapsing it?" Deodomus thought. It made sense. Almost all lords or kings had some amount of pride & overconfidence which often led to mistakes.

Half an hour later Deodomus and Ming Sheng exited the pathway and found themselves in a thick forest.

"So that's it. Since this pathway leads to such a dangerous place, there was no need to put obstacles in it?" Deodomus considered this possibility as well. The forest surrounding the Gen capital was filled with dangerous beasts. This provided a layer of defense to the capital. But Deodomus knew a way through it, thanks to Han Mo. Thus, he was not worried. Soon he and Ming Sheng disappeared in the thicket, escaping successfully.
