Chương 8: First Creation

The goblin, unlike the stereotypical goblins from media, wasn't short. Instead, it stood at a height of 5'6", nearly matching Kingsley's own stature.

Observing the creature, Kingsley nodded to himself, fully aware that there was no chance he would have won in a physical confrontation.

"Now, how exactly do I extract the info I want? Do I extract its memories or what?" Kingsley muttered to himself.

He knew he could do it, but the very idea made him uncomfortable. It felt wrong, even against a creature as vile as a goblin.

Although his position afforded him the luxury of ignoring the moral high ground, he still chose to hold on to it. With great power came such liberties.

More importantly, Kingsley had no interest in sifting through a goblin's memories. He was certain it would be like watching hardcore, violent sex on repeat—none of which would be consensual.

The thought alone was repulsive, and he quickly dismissed the idea. Besides, he had a nagging feeling that the goblin could serve a different purpose.

"Goblins clearly can't speak in a language I understand, so asking it questions is pointless," Kingsley said, ruling out that approach.

While it was possible to make the goblin speak English, the process seemed far more complicated than he was equipped to handle.

Altering its vocal cords would require specific knowledge, and Kingsley was completely clueless in that area.

Manipulating elements like space, time, or earth came naturally to him since he could impose his will on their "spirits." This, however, was entirely different.

"I really need to experiment more with my powers," Kingsley thought, growing increasingly frustrated with his limitations.

He wasn't sure if he could simply will something into existence or if a functioning theory or prior knowledge was necessary for his abilities to work.

For now, experimenting on the goblin wasn't an option. He couldn't recreate the creature from scratch, as he had no idea how. He needed another approach to make it talk.

"Evolution it is, then," he decided, pacing around the immobilized goblin as he considered his options.

Kingsley had a gut feeling he could evolve the creature. Over time, he had realized he was adept at manipulating broad concepts, like earth or space, by attributing some kind of will to them.

But when it came to specifics, like altering a goblin's vocal cords, he was utterly lost—for now, at least.

After giving the goblin one last look, Kingsley created a chair out of the earth and sat down. Stretching his hands out in front of him, he focused. His palms faced each other, and from them, a mist began to seep.

The mist moved with purpose, gathering in the space between his hands. It grew denser, more concentrated, until it began to compress. Slowly, the mist solidified, taking the shape of a small, crystal-clear tablet.

"Did I do it?" Kingsley wondered aloud, unsure if he had succeeded. His actions had been guided by the description of his powers, which claimed he could create anything he wanted in this realm.

The system message appeared, and with it, Kingsley's hope soared. If the system recognized his creation, then it was likely he had succeeded.

"I'll name it... uh, Evo Crystal," Kingsley said, settling on an unoriginal name. Coming up with something unique felt impossible in the moment, but at least it served its purpose.
