Evelyn entered the palace with a frown on her face. Her anxiety was heightened by the uncanny silence. She glanced around and saw no one. There were no sounds of servants conversing or kitchenware being washed.
She was wondering as to where they had gone. Somehow she felt she should look for her father. Her gaze was pulled to the study room, where he spent most of his time. She walked up to it and pushed open the door.
Cold air blew, making her shiver. She scolded herself for leaving the shawl in her carriage before she entered the Manor for the party. Sneezing, she stepped inside the room and looked around, but found no one.
"He hasn't come yet from the event," she muttered.
She proceeded to close the glass door that led to their garden as it was making the room extremely cold. Sneezing again due to the cold air she pulled it. As she was about to turn and go back, her eyes fell on the white object which was in the garden.
