Chương 10: Chapter 10

"My name is June, we are doing intos, then we can let you all go before you go to classes tomorrow. I am a cryomancer, and a sixth year student."

Everyone introduced themselves, there was nobody he knew in the group, but there were a few interesting people that piqued his interest. This included Salena,(A Bard) Lilly, (A Wizard)And Rex,(A Spear Knight.) They were then sent back to their rooms with a schedule.

The next 5 days were intensive battles with the training golems that everyone watched, then another 2 days for everyone to make a group and move in together. Only the first years came, but almost all of them did as they wanted to know who would complement their abilities next. The rooms were pretty small, but had a small area to study and another to sleep. Jake spent the rest of the day looking over the facilities in the buildings. This included a gym, arenas, training rooms, crafting rooms, study spaces, as well as restaurants and bars.Money was really tight, so he couldn't afford to use any of the facilities, but it was good to know that it was available.

[World Walker Activated]

A wooden sword slammed into his head, waking him up. His eyes opened wide to see his master standing above him with a hand out. She had left him out there till night. Five hours. He was laying on the floor for five hours before she woke him up.

"You shouldn't sleep on the job, get up so we can keep going."

He wasn't distraught by this at all, as fighting was now not only a part of his lifestyle, but the main part of his lifestyle. He picked up the spear, and got into position. Another slash hit into his spear, hard enough to break his guard.

"Focus on defense, your to weak to hit me anyway"

He did as she said, trying his best to only block. He tightened his grip with both hands, focusing on nothing other than his opponent's sword. A sword sent out a loud crack as it slammed into the middle of the spear, immediately rebounding then swerving around into an upper slash. He moved the bottom of the spear directly into its path and took a step back to adjust his feet and brace for the impact. Another large cracking noise went off as the sword did a full 360 to the other side, he tried to block but without adjusting his footwork it broke his balance and gave her the perfect opportunity to slit his throat, but she stopped in front of his neck.

"Again"

He repositioned, and another series of crackling hits went off.

"Again"

He could only block a few times, but was definitely better.

"Again"

"Again"

"Again"

He spent almost 5 hour fighting over and over again. He really needed all the stamina increases to make it possible to fight for that long. He had gotten many times better at blocking with a spear, and for the first time he sensed he awakened he was getting stronger without the system knowing. Most people would get skills for this, but even without it he was definitely growing stronger. It was like he was just a regular member of the cultivation world, getting better purely through practice without being told every time he got stronger.

"I have to go to a meeting, make sure the entirety of my dwelling is clean. And don't touch any of the books or weapons in my room. Same and the crate of rings is suspected to be used, so don't open that box."

As soon as he walked in the door, he opened the crate to see the cursed rings.

[Draining Ring Of Master Doxen][High Common Tier][Cursed]

Skill [Flaming Empowerment]

Dexterity +10

[Curse]

When equipped for more than 24 hours, drains one strength stat and gives it to Master Doxen.(Give one tenth of a strength point per point stolen)

(Timer does not reset when unequip)

It was indeed a cursed and very dangerous item, but he wasn't sure how he could tell his master about it. Not only was he not allowed to see the rings, but how would he explain how he found out? But he knew he had to tell her, because there were only a few things against his moral code, and stealing the abilities and stats of others was one of them. It was robbing them of the only thing that could keep them alive, and for someone like him the only thing that gave him a real purpios. On top of that, whoever this master Doxen was extremely dangerous and probably was doing other immoral things that could get others killed.

He proceeded to clean the entire mountainside home in a little under two hours. She had a locked bookcase, but he had the keys as part of the set he was given. The other locked area was a closet with a variety of swords, armor, and jewelry. This was the storage room for her powerful items, as the less powerful ones were left on display or laying on racks around the house. He wasn't sure if this was normal, or she was just a collector, But he didn't mind because it gave the place a good aesthetic.

He couldn't appraise the jewelry as they were locked behind a hard glass like substance. The bookshelf and weapon racks in the closet also had the translucent metal, and he didn't want to risk opening them and getting in trouble so he left them alone.

[Training Dimension Activated]

He took the steel and iron out of his inventory before beginning to cultivate the metal. Over another hour he had cultivated all three bars as much as he could. The iron was stronger than steel and the steel was even stronger than that.

[Forge Activated]

He placed the ingots in the furnace and started to shape the phantom metal that appeared on the forge. He fiddled with some amulets, rings, earrings, and finally decided on a necklace with an iron chain and a circular steel charm with a pearl embedded directly in the center. Pearls were known for their good luck, so using the techniques he had wouldn't do very well. He carved curved lines around it so it looked like the pearl was absorbing the power around it.

Jake wasn't one hundred percent sure what it would do, but he was hoping for something to boost his spear abilities with lucky hits, which deal extra damage randomly. He pulled out the iron and slowly fashioned it into a long strand. Jake took out a small chisel that he used to break the strand into almost 50 different pieces, then carving them into links of chains, all interconnected before they cooled down. This process was very tedious and strenuous, much more than he had expected for it. The charm was much easier. It only took him about 45 minutes to fully forge and draw the pearls frame.

[Forging Complete]

[45 Jeweler EXP gained]

[Engraver Activated]

The pearl was significantly easier, he simply engraved swirls to match the ones he made on its coin sized holder.

[Engraving Complete]

[15 Jeweler EXP gained]
