As they were walking on this path up to the lower temple Jake put on the ring and used an inner accessory, then put his bracelet in his inventory. He unfortunately couldn't use it in combat, but he could be pretty discreet with it if he needed to be.
"I see you have brought another one Wai, is he a strong talent like the last one?"
"Yes Master Zed."
She responded with a bow and a tone of respect.
"Good, take him back to your quarters and get him our basic technique and a training weapon."
"Yes Master Zed."
She t again before pulling him out the door.
"So youngling, what is your weapon of choice? I saw your claws so I would suspect you have been trained with a slashing weapon like a sword. We have many kinds, and you can take your pick."
"I have only ever been trained in staff combat."
This was true, he had planned to be a mage since he was very little so it was normal to train with a staff, even when most mages preferred to go empty handed or with a grimoire of some kind.
"Why are you still being formal Jake, you're my servant now so you can talk however you like." She let out a small giggle as she said it, encouraging him to talk more about himself. Having the ability to control fire to that degree made his origin a mystery that she wanted to know.
"Ooh yah sorry. I'm just a bit embarrassed, I was only a slave for a few days before being bought and I'm still not used to being a servant of any kind."
"If you weren't a slave for that long, where did you grow up?"
"I'm not sure, I honestly don't remember anything before I was a slave. I guess to spare myself the pain of watching my parents sell me to strangers."
It wasn't entirely untrue, he really didn't remember his life in the world before being a slave.
"Do you remember how you learned your fire claw ability? Most people can't control an element that well when they are at your power level."
"I guess I learned from my parents or something."
They had finally reached her living space. But this conversation left Wai with lots of questions, but she postponed them to bring him inside. He was shown to a small room with a small bed and desk. It was even smaller than the room he got in school, but it had the essentials. She handed him a small book and let him know that he would be left alone for a few hours before he would go and try some weapons out. The door closed and he opened the book called hardened flame form one. In the pages it described a fire that would recycle its energy and the energy around it to make it burn longer. The first technique was rotating all your ki through the core after starting this , by doing so the user would recycle a portion of his ki as well as make it easier to push through to the next cultivation realm. The problem with this was that if you used too much ki it would be overwhelmed and go out, fortunately he wasn't close to that limit He finished reading and started to meditate. He put on the bracelet and circulated his ki. The ki in his body crashed in his core, sparking the flame. Using his memory of the pictures to sustain the fire.

[1 EXP gained]
He knew it would risk his life, but he survived the first time and with the bonus from the new technique he took a step off the edge into the pool of ki. The pain was less this time. The fire in him was absorbing the ki slowly as his waves of lighting let him absorb more. He was barely using ki at all as it was regenerating from the flame. His mana and stamina were not the same. They were draining quickly, and even when his ki started converting to the other two it would be only ten percent efficient so his ki would run out fast enough. He was almost done when the flame died. He couldnt use it as a skill so it needed mana to keep running. The pain worsened exponentially, but with only a few seconds left he pushed to the end. He only had 20 stamina and 5 ki left when he had finished.

He was breathing hard and felt his whole body aching. The bonus stats were even better than the last time, so he could probably use any weapon at this point. He ran out of his room and out of the house before coughing up black sludge again. He saw Wai walking up to him, he was worried that she would be mad but for leaving the discussing sludge on the ground, but she looked calm.
"Ooh an advancement, I'm excited to spar with you, right after you finish cleaning up."
He was then reminded he was a servant, and would have to clean up the mess. She went to get tools and left him with 2 buckets, one with water and one without. He also got a dustpan, sponge, and deep scrubbing brush. He first scooped up as much drippy dark liquid as he could, but found it was sticking to the ground. It was one of the worst things he had ever smelt, but he scrubbed out eventually. It took 2 hours to get the smell out. But he did move on eventually into the open area. It was more like a stage, it had no walls and a large rack with a breath of weapons made purely out of wood. It had spears, swords, hammers, staves, and all sorts of basic weapons. There were more than 30 different swords, as they are the main weapon of the cultivator.
