"Principal Theresa," Amane said, knocking on her door after receiving an urgent notification to go there immediately.
"Come in," Theresa replied from inside the office. "Why are you being so formal?" she asked, pouting slightly.
"We're at school, Theresa. I'll use formalities in important places, but not in private or depending on the situation," Amane explained with a smile.
"I have a mission in Nagazora, where a new Herrscher might form, and I wanted to bring you along. That's why I called you here," Theresa said as she handed him a sword.
"This is the weapon you requested. Thanks to the blueprint you gave me, the weapon manufacturing became faster and stronger," Theresa said, providing him with the mission details. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, you're already asking anyway," Amane answered, nodding his head, and waited for the question.
Theresa asked Amane seriously, "Where did you get your powers? And where did Gu Yuena and the others come from?" She looked at him with genuine curiosity. "Every time I look at Gu Yuena, it feels like I'm looking at a god. The pressure she releases is unimaginable, something similar to Herrschers. And I can't find any data about Chisato, Artoria, and Amou, but I can't deny the fact that they are strong. Artoria's sword is a dangerous thing for a little girl to hold, after all."
"Would you believe me if I told you that we are from another world?" Amane said teasingly, giving her a playful smile.
"I see. No wonder you are so strong. You're from another bubble world. Did the Honkai destroy your home?" Theresa answered, surprising Amane because it was the first time he heard about a bubble universe.
"Something like that, but can you explain the bubble universe to me?" Amane asked with great curiosity.
"Bubble universes are parallel universes, hypothetical self-contained planes of existence coexisting with our own, or they can be man-made universes created by someone."
"These bubble universes let us explore different stories and experiences, with various scenarios within our known universe, but things may happen differently, and characters can have changed roles."
"It's like a huge multiverse with countless possibilities and adventures to find," Theresa explained as Amane eagerly listened, slowly gaining enlightenment about his Imaginary Tree.
"Also, there's the Sea of Quanta. It is a very important place in the world, where bubble universes reside, and several people were sealed, from what I've heard."
"The Sea of Quanta is where Quantum Shadows are born and produced. They are very dangerous beings that are hard to defeat by normal means," Theresa continued, noticing that Amane was attentively listening and making her smile.
"The Sea of Quanta has birthed the Imaginary Tree. Since these two are the only living things in the multiverse, they began a long rivalry."
"The Tree wishes to absorb the Sea, while the Sea wishes to drown the Tree. In order to facilitate this cycle, worlds 'grow' as leaves of the Tree, and when they fail to persist, they 'fall' from the Tree and into the Sea."
"These worlds become fragmented versions of themselves, called bubble universes, with some having more stability than others," Theresa explained.
"I see," Amane answered in great shock, as this is the first time he heard about this very important information. "Then what is Imaginary?"
Theresa smiled and explained, "The Imaginary Tree is an important place. It is the origin of life itself, as all universes and bubble worlds are born there."
"The Imaginary Tree emerged from 'an endless Sea of unfathomable depths and boundaries.' Since the Imaginary Tree and Sea of Quanta are alone in the universe, they have an unending rivalry. The Sea of Quanta swells while the Imaginary Tree extends its roots. The Sea of Quanta wants to flood the Tree. Meanwhile, the Imaginary Tree wants to absorb the Sea."
"The Tree has drunk from the Sea, endured an asamkhya (an innumerable amount of time), and grown a nayuta (numerical unit of one hundred billion or ten million) of branches and leaves. During this seemingly endless time, a branch grew a new bud."
"This was the birth of human civilization. Time flows in the trunk of the Imaginary Tree and branches out into an infinity of worlds. Every branch is a form of civilization, while every bud is their past and present etched onto the dimension of time."
"Each twig is a world line and each leaf is a bubble universe," Theresa explained as Amane gained enlightenment and used that knowledge for his Martial Spirit Imaginary Tree, using his mind sea as a medium for the Sea of Quanta.
"I understand. When are we leaving?" Amane asked, looking at Theresa and waiting for her answer.
"Soon as possible," Theresa replied as she walked towards Hyperion.
Amane nodded and followed Theresa, even though he was in enlightenment. He decided to multitask by recreating the Sea of Quanta and using it to create life in his imaginary tree.
"Right! I'll ask Kiana to make me a copy of Great Sage," he muttered, eager to finish the mission and seek Kiana's help.
______________
As they arrived in Nagazora using private jets instead of Hyperion, Amane started to wonder and walked next to Theresa.
"Now that I think about it, how did we leave a living person here?" Amane said, raising a question that confused him.
"What do you mean by that?" Theresa asked, curious about his statement, as it seemed like he might have harmed someone.
"Chisato used her ability to rewind time, bringing back everyone who had died and fixing the buildings. And Kiana used her ability to control the void and sent them to the outskirts of Nagazora," Amane explained, looking around the place and noticing the gathering of Honkai energy in a certain area.
"Now that you mention it, it makes sense how people suddenly didn't get infected and got cured. But do you think there's a possibility that Kiana failed to send someone to the outskirts using her ability?" Theresa pondered, trusting Amane's words.
"No, that's impossible with her brain," Amane answered with a serious expression, making Theresa look at him weirdly as they were talking about Kiana.
"We will discover it once we arrive at that place," Theresa pointed to where the Honkai Energy gathered.
"It looks like the Honkai energy is gathering at Senba High," Amane said as they ran in the direction of the academy at full speed.
They arrived at the academy within a minute, without a single drop of sweat, and saw a bunch of Honkai beasts blocking the way.
"Let me handle this. You can check the classrooms if there are any survivors," Amane said as he readied his sword, and Theresa nodded, immediately sprinting inside the school.
"ROARRR!" The Honkai Beast created a howling cry before its head fell down by Amane's sword attack.
Theresa didn't notice what happened to the Honkai Beast as she trusted in Amane's strength, knowing how strong he really is.
As Theresa arrived, she saw a girl wrapped in vines, and her eyes looked lifeless, but she was clearly breathing.
"I finally found you, the new Herrscher," Theresa said as she looked at the girl who gazed back at her. "Just like what I expected, you must be feeling great pain from slowly getting corroded by Honkai Energy." She said as she readied her Oath Judah and pulled a golden chain with a blade at the end of it.
Oath Judah opened and released a large number of golden spears as Theresa held it and stabbed it towards the girl.
Theresa sighed. She was about to pull her spear when vines suddenly stabbed her, throwing her away from the girl.
"How can it be?" Theresa asked as she looked at the girl covered by vines.
"You're stupid for letting your guard down. Don't you dare compare me to my useless sister who's obsessed over a man. I knew you would come here to eliminate me," the girl said as the vines lifted her up.
"Why am I the only one who must suffer? My mother always hated me and scolded me even for tiny mistakes," she grumbled, holding her head in a manner akin to a crazy person.
"My classmates always bully me, always using me like the boy from another class who helped me. In the end, I found out that he was a womanizer," she grumbled as she slowly walked near Theresa.
"Why am I left alone in this empty classroom when everyone was evacuated?" She asked, giving Theresa a crazy smile.
"Zabaniya."
Both girls heard a word and saw a shadowy hand fly through the chest of the Herrscher and hold something akin to a gem.
"Sheesh, Principal, you should never let down your guard even for a single moment when you're on the battlefield," Theresa saw Amane as he held a gem between his hands and sighed with relief when she saw the girl who had turned into a Herrscher was breathing, even though she had lost consciousness.
