Less than four months remain until the conclusion of the Lazarus Project.
Carvel Horin shifted his strategy, transitioning from relying on others to harm Eren and his allies to direct and forceful retaliation against the forces of Edinburgh.
The previous approach had burdened House Horin's finances without yielding substantial results, prompting them to reconsider their tactics.
House Horin now concentrated on bolstering Layos' war campaign to strike back at Eren. They recognized that they no longer required the assistance of fringe elements within Edinburgh to target Eren, as his Guild was inevitably deploying members to the battlefield. This provided House Horin ample opportunities for retaliation.
In the upcoming chapters, I'll focus on summarizing the in-story incidents rather than delving deeply into character interactions. I want to maintain narrative momentum while we address a few pending matters before diving into the volume's core content. So there will be instances where we briefly touch upon background incidents.
I want to avoid retaining these scenes as flashbacks in the next volume, as this could potentially lead to monotony. At the same time, I don’t want to entirely omit them, considering their contribution to the broader world backdrop of the VEH universe.
The upcoming volume of VEH will distinctly diverge from its predecessors. Thus, the idea of reserving these scenes for later use seems impractical.
Even if I have confidence in my ability to seamlessly incorporate them into the main narrative at a later point, doing so would be counterproductive in terms of storytelling progression. It doesn't make sense to move four steps forward only to backtrack by two. Especially when the entire world setting around Eren is changed from its roots.
VEH has always focused on attention to little details. Each fragment contributes to a larger picture, creating a comprehensive whole. It's not my style as an author to bypass these finer points in order to get to the “good stuff” in haste. Therefore, I ask for your patience. Wrapping up these incidents will likely take about 3-4 days. I’ll try to speed up the release rate if I can. Be assured, the wait will be worth it. ;)
