“Calian!” the server exclaimed. “You’re a sight for sore eyes.”
Gage was excited. Now, he knew that the man he was fascinated by and sort of crushing on was called Calian.
“Hey, Miriam. It has only been two days since we last met.”
Calian and Miriam chatted and laughed with each other while Gage slowly chewed his food and shamelessly eavesdropped on their conversation. It wasn’t as if he was doing it on purpose. Calian and Miriam were talking rather loudly. Gage had no doubt that most people at the diner could listen in even if they didn’t really want to. He was glad that he now had a name to go with that pretty face. He also thought that Calian was a unique name.
“You should stop by more often,” Miriam said while grinning at Calian.
“I’ll do my best,” Calian promised.
Miriam sighed. “Fine. Do you want your usual?”
“Yes, please.”
“Okay. I’ll be back with your order in about fifteen minutes.”
“Thank you.”
