There were people who had the luxury of turning down work, but Howard knew that he was not one of those people. He and Jason had two college educations to pay for, and right now it looked like both of their children planned on attending school after they received their bachelor’s degrees. No matter what I might be doing, at least my children won’t be scrubbing portable toilets, Howard thought and then realized that if they inherited the family business that they just might be.
“Egads,” Howard said. “What have I gotten myself into?”
The silent room didn’t answer him, so he answered himself. “You’ve gotten yourself into a position to save your family and your family business.”
Two weeks was nothing. He could do anything for that long. If he just held in there for two weeks, he would have added maybe ten clients to the company. Not to mention, these weren’t clients who were going anywhere. They needed Chidworth Home Services, and CHS certainly needed them.
