“I’ll take Dan and Dillon out to pack land tomorrow morning. I’ve already gotten permission from my mom. We’re going on a picnic.”
“I thought you usually slept until late in the afternoon on Sundays.”
Darby scoffed. “Shut up. Do you want to know what my plan is for tomorrow or not?”
“Yes, but—”
Darby glared, and Jordan made a zipping motion with his fingers and lips. Then he gestured for Darby to continue.
“I ordered some food from Sparkle’s diner yesterday evening.”
“Sparkle the elf?”
“Yes.”
“What kind of food?”
“Meatball pasta and wine.”
“Anything special about them?”
“They will be delicious, and I’m sure Dan will agree when he tastes them tomorrow.”
Jordan chuckled. “Riordan is a vampire, man. Didn’t you tell me once he ate normal human food out of obstinacy?”
Darby nodded. “That’s right, but Sparkle will adjust the recipe for Dan.”
“What does that mean?”
“My and Dillon’s pasta will use ketchup as one of its ingredients. Nothing out of the ordinary about that.”
