“Nope,” Darby answered. “My brother will inherit the alpha position from my mother. He’s a natural leader.”
“Is he also the best fighter in the pack?”
Darby shook his head at Riordan. “Nope. That will be me, but I’m frankly not interested in becoming an alpha. I’m more than satisfied in acting as the second in command. No one else dares to challenge Darcy. Darcy is the second-best fighter in the pack. Plus, all of the other werewolves know I’ll kick their asses if they try to usurp the position from Darcy.”
“Is Darcy mated?”
“Yeah. He has seven mates,” Darby replied to Dillon’s question. “Three women and four men. That’s how I know all the soul mates must be present during the bonding process. Otherwise, it won’t take. It simply slipped my mind earlier when I wondered why you two aren’t mated yet.”
Riordan beamed at Darby. “Are they all soul mates then?”
Darby snickered. “Yeah. Crazy, isn’t it?”
Riordan whistled softly. “Hot damn! The sex must be hot.”
