“Yeah, you’re right, of course. Let’s go outside and watch the stars for a bit.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Watch the stars?”
Galaxy broke out of his embrace. “Yes. Don’t worry. We can go out there with hot tea and there’s a heat lamp. We can talk for a bit.”
“That does sound nice,” Adam admitted. Even though he was always ready to jump Galaxy, he didn’t mind just spending time with him. It did sound like a good idea.
After they finished loading the dishwasher, they went outside with steaming mugs of spiced tea and sat in patio chairs under the stars. After Galaxy started the heat lamp, of course.
“One of things I really love about Sutter’s Bay is you can really see the stars at night,” Galaxy said, his face titled up to gaze at the sky. “That is when it’s not cloudy. Which it damn well is a lot.”
Adam chuckled. “Yeah, growing up here I remember the joke was always is it raining or just cloudy.”
“I bet you were a cute kid.”
“Nah. Well, maybe. I was kind of a troublemaker.”
