“Nah, just half.” Nico smiled sunnily.
Rider went to the boy and hugged him close from behind. To his surprise, Nicolas wrapped his arms around Rider’s, and leaned back into his father. “I’m so glad you’re here, although—”
“Yeah I know. Wish things weren’t so weird with Emilio. But then, shifter stuff always is, right?” Nico sighed and they stepped away from one another after one more squeeze.
It was a shame Anna’s new boyfriend couldn’t stand being half-shifter. It brought on problems none of them could’ve foreseen. Then again, it was amazing to have Nico living with him for once, so maybe there was a silver lining in everything? “It will get better, you know. He’ll get over it. And your mom seems to think he’s an okay guy, just has some self-esteem issues.”
“I just still don’t get why it’s my business at all that he can’t shift and feels shitty about it. I can’t help being a son of an alpha who canshift.” Nico was getting his teenager on, obviously.
