Their first date was on a Saturday night because all three of them had Sundays off,so they could stay out as late as they wanted if things went well.Jack and Brandt came by Lori’s apartment a little before six to pick her up in Jack’s truck.She half-expected a text telling her they were waiting at the curb,so she was pleasantly surprised when there was a knock on the door and she found them both standing outside when she answered.

Each presented her with one perfect,red rose.

Flustered,Lori invited them in while she put the roses in a vase.Then she grabbed her purse and let them lead her to the truck.“So what’s the plan tonight,fellas?”

“I was thinking a steakhouse,”Jack said.

Brandt scowled.“There’s a surprise.Meat and potatoes,that’s all he likes.I suggested Italian,but nooo.”

“Damn it,”Jack snapped,“you can eat spaghetti at home.”

“You can eat steak,too,”Brandt countered.

Jack shook his head.“We can’t grill it,so it isn’t the same.”
