Chương 18: The Day of the Siege

It's already been a day since the fight, the two were terrified as Anna warns them to never do it again, unless she will act using insubordination. The two then have been quiet and resting in their own places, but they were still happy that they survived the wrath of their Gruppenführer.

"That was scary, I thought we would be skin alive after that." Peter stated, while Manfred just made a smile and Ingrid who has a massive smile that is meant to piss off Peter.

"Fuck you." Peter said to Ingrid, as she was victorious in the arguments and predicted the winner.

"Cheer up Peter, at least you tried." Ursula who is cheering for him.

"Thanks, you're one of the best women I have ever met… compared to the other one that I know." Peter said while directly looking at Ingrid.

Karin, and Manfred just laugh at the two's banter, while they were having fun Anna who emerged from the front door beside her was William.

"It seems everyone has been well rested already, pack your gear we will commence the upcoming siege of Mogilev." Anna who ordered to pack their things, and William who is already prepared for their departure.

After a minute, they were already finished and prepared for the siege of Mogilev. They were greeted by the 215th Infantry Division, mostly of the transportation trucks.

They were mostly supplying the fuels and ammo that they have. The Kar98k, MP40 and lastly the P-38 Luger, the standard equipment for the infantry division, along with some heavy ammo for the MG.

Inside those transportation trucks, they were the Sd. Kfz 251 the same transportation truck that they have used.

"It seems they're going all out just to take out Mogilev as fast as they could." Ingrid stated.

The platoon of Anna hopped in the half truck, and continued their destination towards Mogilev. "If my memory serves me right, Mogilev was a heavily fortified city. I'm guessing it would be bombarded by the Artillery regime, to soften them up."

"Perhaps I'm wrong, I can't remember much now." He was looking down at his hands, as he hallucinated to see filled with blood instead. He calmed himself and his hands were back to normal like before.

He looks at the others, that is the different platoon. Majority of them are males and only 2 females in the platoon.

Then from the skies, the squad of BF 109 were now heading towards Mogilev. The Whole division is now moving in the same line towards Mogilev. Then not far from their position was the 8th Panzer Division who was moving towards the frontline.

They saw the massive army is now invading Mogilev, and Mogilev has been cut off from its allies. Since the plan for the encirclement had been implemented.

The 8th Panzer Division was leading the charge towards Mogilev. Many hours had passed as they were still traveling through the roads towards Mogilev, they encountered some multiple bodies and some mud.

It was slowing their movements in the environment, but they kept pushing. Until finally a city could be seen and it was Mogilev.

The commanding forces of the 215th Infantry division ordered the Artillery Regime to position themselves outside their sights.

They were preparing for the siege to soften the enemy. Then the 8th Panzer Division began their blitzkrieg tactic with an overwhelming force of tanks now charging towards the city.

But now inside the city, it was filled with multiple Anti-Tank Pieces, it was 57mm zis-2 was stationed inside one of the buildings as protection.

Some of the soldiers of the soviets have laid down some wires in a road to halt their movement a little bit.

Then, the first explosion occured as the sound of the Panzer 4 Ausf H fired their rounds, as the another regime of tanks fired as well.

Then the Soviets fired back, as the 57mm Zis-2 fired inside the building, a shockwave of explosion occurred in the barrel causing a recoil.

The building shook as it was hit by a stray shell. Then inside the city, a T-34-76 could be seen hiding, as it fired its gun and missed the shot.

But then the Luftwaffe Division came, and strifing towards the city and dive bombing. In the process, as they drop their payload mercilessly.

The shock and terror of both side is now happening, the morale is slowly degrading of the Soviets.

Until, the fear had gone stronger as a loud whistle was coming down from the skies, and it was an artillery barrage. Coming from the skies, they were being siege hard.

The 8th Panzer Division the spearhead of the offensive, were terrorizing the defensive position of the soviets.

The screams of the soviets are now louder than before, a shell flew towards a building and it was a High Explosive rounds that detonated inside a brick wall causing multiple shrapnels flying through the house, and ripping the enemy to shreds as their legs blown up, and some of them got blasted through the skull.

In the back of the lines, you could see the group of William and the others. They were preparing for the second offensive, the Urban warfare, as rushing in forwards towards the open-field would be a death bed for them.

"The Frontline of the enemy position would fall in just 1 or 2 days, then after that we would be pushing in through the city and occupying, and all soviets you could see, or even an armed civilian don't hesitate to pull the trigger. Understood?"

"Yes, Gruppenführer." Everyone uttered at the same time.

The Siege of Mogilev had commenced.
