Goosebumps rose upon their skin as the soldiers witnessed the entity embedded at the centre of the revolting hall.

An intangible pressure slithered across their shoulders, urging them to bend the knee in veneration.

But they all refused.

For their pride would not allow it.

As such were the soldiers serving under Ranulf.

And thus, they waited.

Waited as blood trickled out of their nose, trickled out of their mouth and trickled out of their eyes.

Some began to vomit, some began to whimper, while some lost consciousness and fell flat on the flesh soaked grounds.

They stayed rooted at their place, unable to take a single step into the sprawling tomb of the flesh.

Yet they could not leave as more carts clustered behind them, blocking off the retreat and pushing them to advance forth.

Flash! A shining light fell upon them, relieving them from all the torment clouding their minds.

“Get inside!” Lazarus shouted as his entire body was emblazed with holy light.
