Chương 21: Teams
'Shit! I'm arriving late. Even Ichiraku Ramen is already open. I have to hurry' the wind whipped at his wet hair.
The young runner was giving everything to arrive on time.
'Shit, Shit, Shit...'
The boy glimpsed the figure of the academy, it was close, but everything seemed so empty. 'Looks like a ghost town!' he thought.
"I'm the only one who's late, dammit!" He cursed to himself and entered the huge school.
He ran through the long corridors, not a soul was there, finally he could slowly hear Iruka-sensei's voice.
Today would be the day the teams would be assigned and he knew it perfectly. But he didn't know what team he would have. 'It would be nice to be with Fuji and Toshi...' That fleeting thought flashed through his mind.
He reached out his hand and opened the sliding door. All the graduates were there, there were really quite a few, but that was because of the ease of the final exam.
Now came the serious. "Sorry I'm late, Iruka-sensei!" They all turned their eyes to the messy student, with wet clothes and messy hair, he could hear the laughter of a blond boy and several others.
"I was just about to mention you, Daiki-kun. You are going to be with Aiko Nohora and Hikaru Namikaze" this took the dark-haired man by surprise.
"Uhhh... Really?" It was something he said by accident.
"Yes, now please have a seat and next time try to be early!" He could be heard underneath a 'gosh, this kid...'.
"Yeah...Sorry" Ignoring the teacher's shout at him, he sat down next to his friends Fuji and Toshi. But first, he sent a quick sidelong glance at his would-be new companions.
He had learned many things in this long time, there were new things.
'This is something I couldn't avoid, many things are out of my hands' his decision not to change past events was strict, he had decided after his fight with the blond Namikaze, but he couldn't control everything. 'He shouldn't exist... Neither should she and I...'
"Hahahaha, what happened to you, bro?" An ugly laugh pulled him out of his thoughts, a boy of wide dimensions smiled at him.
"I-I know... I'm late." A goofy answer was what could come out of his mouth.
"Did you at least have breakfast?" A higher pitched voice compared to Toshi and Daiki spoke up, a boy with a rather feminine appearance.
"No…" Rubbing the back of his neck he realized how lost he was.
"Your team is pretty good, Daiki-kun. Unfortunately the 3 of us aren't together..." The effeminate boy said with a sad tone.
"Puff, you touched with a couple of crazy, the blond believer and the ghost girl" the big boy spoke in a mocking tone.
"Girl... Ghost?" That name aroused the dark-haired man's curiosity.
"Yes, because he never comes to class, he appears and disappears!" The big boy didn't care if Aiko could hear him.
"Could you shut up, Toshi-kun?!" Iruka-sensei's great roar caused the rioter to cry out.
Daiki had to contain his laughter at the situation, he didn't want another yell from Iruka.
"Pss... Daiki-kun, don't worry about the food, I brought too many, when this is over we can eat all 3 together" whispering the skinny boy showed him a Bento elegantly covered in a silk cloth.
Daiki's eyes lit up, Fuji was his lifeline when it came to food.
"Now follows Team 11, Toshi Satō, Fuji Takahashi, and Hanako Suzuki!"
"Good!" Toshi shouted in celebration, he had gotten his good friend Fuji and a girl unknown to him, she could be his future girlfriend if she was cute.
"At least you guys will be together, that's good" despite not being with them, the dark-haired man flashed a bright smile.
"Don't worry, hefty. We'll go eat grilled meat whenever we can! Of course, if we're not busy hunting criminals" he said the last thing with great happiness, this would make his father happy.
"Yes, Daiki-kun." Fuji's sharp voice affirmed the big man's words.
The young man nodded at everything his friends said with a big smile.
"Well, now you can have lunch. In an hour come to this very place and wait for your respective senseis!" With this last statement Master Iruka left the classroom.
"It's time to eat!"

"Well, guys, tell me. Do you like any of our classmates?" Wrapping his two friends in a hug, Toshi asked an interesting question.
"Dude. We're 12 years old!" Daiki was not really interested in any of these girls, they could easily be a younger sister.
"And what?!" Looking intently at Daiki, he continued with Fuji.
"And tell me, dear friend, do you like any girl? You have the appearance of being quite romantic!" The effeminate boy's face turned a deep red.
"Tell me the name, Fuji-kun! We are among friends" with a huge smile he left the poor boy no choice.
Despite wanting to act disinterested, Daiki was a little curious.
He started to shake his head, trying to avoid the intense gaze of his friend.
"Come on, Fuji-kun!" Taking him by the shoulders Toshi tried to calm him down.
"We could help you, Fuji" Daiki intervened, that was the moment where he knew that he was lost, cornered.
"Ahhhhhh! O-okay...But first...let go of me" Breaking free of his friend's tight grip, he started to speak.
"S,-she's not our age..." With some hesitation Fuji began to count.
"Ohhhh!" The fat boy let out a great cry.
Daiki raised his eyebrow at this information, 'Who could it be?'
"H-H-Her name is TenTen" This opened Daiki's mouth wide. He hadn't expected such an answer.
"She is the daughter of some friends of my father..." Fuji's embarrassment grew more and more, he was a complete tomato.
"And... What is she like? Is she cute? Is she funny? Is she strong?" Questions rained down from Toshi's mouth.
Daiki finally broke free of his stupor and realized.
"Idiots, it's been over an hour and I couldn't even finish my food!"
"Shit!"
"It's your fault Toshi-kun!" Breaking out of his embarrassment, Fuji finally spoke firmly.
"That doesn't matter now, we have to get to the classroom right now!" Daiki started putting the chopsticks inside the Bento and handed it to Fuji.
"Let's go!"
