He tucked his knife back in his waist before cleaning the blood off.
"Before the smell of blood spreads, I have to kill another one of them."
He needed only one more intermediate tier beast to complete his bloodline quest.
"I have four options to choose from. Leaving the flight capable bird, there are only koala, Golden Monkey and the Mountain Goat."
"It is best if I can lure in the Koala like beast. Other than that ,both the Golden monkey and Mountain goat are on the same level."
"But the problem is that I am not sure if they will later find me out in midst of bloodline upgrade."
"If they do attack me, then I am leaving the strongest one of them alive to literally be later killed by themselves when defenseless."
"Bloodline upgrade is a tiresome process, in some cases it takes more than half a day for it be concluded."
He didn't want to leave the strong and unpredictable beasts alive only to be later killed by them, when in midst of bloodline upgrade.
Bloodline upgrade was a very mysterious topic. Different people had unique and distinctive bloodlines, the time it took to upgrade the bloodline was unpredictable.
Depending on the purity of bloodline it could reduce or might even increase. Time taken for bloodline upgrade depended on various factors.
Roan did not know about the White bloodline. He only knew that it was a kind of system, nothing more.
He was unsure of the process, making him take countermeasures and plan for his safety. If his bloodline upgrade caused commotion, then he would not even know how he died in midst of jungle between hundreds of beasts.
"Let's try the koala first. It would be best if it can be swiftly killed like Lion tailed macaque." he said
He used green lens on Koala's body, it was difficult to maintain an eye contact with it. He could hardly move sneakily to maintain it.
The illusion worked on Koala for a second before the connection suddenly tore off.
Nevertheless, Roan was already prepared for the Koala to break free from his control.
He did not waste anytime and ordered the beast to face his direction. One second, it was enough to again build the connection with the Koala.
He stared into Koala's eye, not allowing it to cause commotion and run away in fear.
The Koala swiftly moved to his direction, under his commands. When he was rejoicing about the ease of it, the Mountain goat approached Koala.
"Is the Goat friends with Koala??" Roan frowned
"It is already too late for me to halt the Koala. If I happen to stop now then i will attract the attention of all the beasts nearby, numbering dozens."
He could not command the Koala resembling beast to stop all of a sudden. It would only make the Mountain goat to grow more suspicious.
Even if he did stop the Koala, there was no way that he could still maintain eye contact with it.
In one way or another he would still be discovered. He decided to not stop and let the Mountain goat follow the Koala like beast to him.
"It is better to fight two beasts whom I can control and know stats of rather than gambling and increase chances of encounter with more than dozen unknown beasts." He murmured to himself
He could only console himself and pray that no other beast decided to follow the Koala.
"I cannot deal with the Mountain Goat in here. It is only a hundred meters away from the other intermediate tier beasts on the trees."
"They would be able to sense my fight, which would make my previous countermeasures very useless."
He intended to at least lure the Mountain goat two hundred meters away from the other beasts.
"It would be best if the Mountain goat does not follow the Koala." Roan wished while luring the goat beast.
It had been a minute since he put the Koala like beast under his control. He already lured the Mountain goat a hundred meters away from rest of the beasts, with the help of Koala.
He was discreetly retreating while luring the Mountain goat. It was very difficult to maintain eye contact with the Koala to keep it under control.
He had to use his top speed combined with Wind path as to not get caught by the Mountain goat's eyes.
In next three minutes, he lured the Mountain goat another hundred meters through the Koala.
"It has only been four minutes so I don't think other beasts would get suspicious of their absence." Roan thought
Intermediate tier beasts had intelligence compared to a human child of eleven or twelve years old. They were not very smart but it didn't mean there could be no exceptions.
Some intermediate tier beasts had intelligence on par with normal human adults, he did not dare to take them lightly.
He made the Mountain goat come another fifty meters before commanding the Koala to stop.
He didn't want the Mountain goat to escape but he could not risk Koala getting out of control either.
"It would be best for me to kill the Koala first. If not, then the Koala might break free when not in eye contact and use some of its ability to fight along with the Mountain goat."
He firmly grabbed the handle of bigger knife with his left hand and the handle of small knife with his right hand.
He wanted to throw the small knife aiming at Mountain goat's vitals to scare it before beheading the Koala in one clean slash.
He grabbed the small knife and with his full might, he rushed to the Mountain goat.
He used Wind path along with his body's agility, making his speed more than 100+ kilometer per hour.
With such speed it did not take him more than three second to appear in front of Mountain goat and Koala only fifty meters or so ahead of him.
When he was only seven or eight meters away from the Mountain goat, he threw his knife in right hand at the goat's head.
The Mountain goat was slightly larger than a normal goat. It did not take him much effort to aim at the goat's head in such close range.
He was not aiming for the Mountain goat, he was only trying to distract it before rushing to the Koala.
The feint attack was successful in distracting the Mountain goat. Not only it distracted it, but it also wounded the beast's waist.
Roan did not pay much attention to the Mountain goat and rushed to the Koala with his left hand firmly gripping the knife.
When he threw the knife at Mountain goat, he felt weakening of his control on Koala. Before the Koala could fully resist his control, he was already slashing at its small body.
SLASH!
Surprisingly, the knife could not sever the Koala's neck. It suddenly came to his mind that the Koala could not have been an ordinary beast.
It looked like a normal Koala with no difference in its size and build but still became an intermediate tier beast. It meant that either the beast had strange ability or high tenacity.
"So it's an tenacious body." Roan sighed
Nevertheless the Koala was still severely wounded with half of its body cleaved. It only needed another slash to render the beast immobile or dead.
He didn't give the Koala chance to show its ability and dashed at it again. He was at his full speed, with the Koala's already wounded body it was as easy as killing a chicken.
He slashed at the Koala again with his full might. The Koala emitted a bright red light when he was in middle of slashing it.
He didn't know whether it was an attack or defense. He could only continue with his attack. He slashed the beast and cleaved its body in two.
The red light on Koala's body struck him and started burning his body before abruptly stopping.
"It seems, it was an attack. But the Koala died before completely delivering the attack." he thought

Before he could rejoice the negation of a strange attack, another attack came at him. He was struck at his back with a pair of legs.
CRACK !!
Sounds of bone breaking could be heard. His defenseless back was hit by an intermediate tier beast.
He was only using reinforce at its peak on his legs and hands. He didn't use it on his back and shoulder as to avoid excess consumption of energy.
He felt a pain which halted his fast reflexes. He could only use his hand and leg to defend and could not bend or jump freely.
"My back is injured but it can be temporarily sustained." Roan said while gritting his teeth.
He had no one to encourage or support himself. He could only console himself with his words.
The Mountain goat dashed at him again after seeing the dead Koala on the ground.
Roan prepared himself by fully reinforcing every part of his body. He firmly gripped his knife ready to attack at any second.
The Mountain goat dashed at him again but this time he easily avoided it with his superior speed.
The Mountain goat used its head with horns to attack him. The attack with its full might broke the tree it struck into two.
"Its main attack is headbutt but it used its legs as to not harm the Koala behind me." Roan thought after seeing the Mountain goat brutally break the tree.
Lucky for him, he was still able to easily dodge the attacks.
The Mountain goat also understood his circumstances and stopped recklessly attacking.
It closed in on Roan not wanting to let him escape. Roan also preferred to fight in close combat so that none of the beasts would discover him.
The Mountain goat used a bloodline skill which increased the its body size. The seemingly ordinary goat grew as big as a horse.
They were already in close combat with a distance of four meters in between them.
The mountain goat stared at him in hatred before rushing at him. He used reinforce to strengthen his hand and prepared to dodge the dash.
He wanted to overpower the beast with an outburst of energy but he could not heal anymore like before. This predicament made him ignore the idea of frontal clash.
He swiftly moved to the left when the Enlarged Mountain goat rushed at him. The Mountain goat moved as if it did not notice his movement.
It still dashed at the same spot to attack him with his vicious horns.
Roan slashed his knife aiming at the Enlarged Goat's neck and cleaved the head apart from body.
Before the Mountain Goat dashed, it was already under his illusion. With hatred and revenge in its mind, the goat could not differ between reality and illusion.
It only made the fight easy for Roan, he moved and swiftly slashed at the beast's neck giving it a quick and painless death unlike its friend.
He felt his body tearing itself and changing, while a warm energy healed him from the damages.
He felt the pain of his body reconstructing before breaking.
"Iss this the.. attack from koalaa?." he spurted a mouthful of blood whole trying to hold back his screams.
Suddenly, he remembered the bloodline upgrade quest.
He beared the immense pain from his bloodline upgrade for half an hour.
Numerous notifications sounded in his head delivering the information from bloodline upgrade.
