Chương 4: Life in Yunkai: Welcome to the Harpies Nest. "What is your goal Sir?
Aril Pov:
Aril looked around the streets seeing many slaves and Thier masters a slave was not allowed to move around without their collers and freely unless on Thier masters errands she Was with Dinak so it was alright but still she couldn't help but feel great unease when walking.
She looked forward noticing Dinak in front of her His wiry medium length hair that he kept messy and un brushed despite constantly being told to keep it presentable. She also noticed him with a curved sword walking as if he were not paying attention to what was happening around him as if he thought all of it didn't matter. She could here people wispher loudly making comments about him saying how he was the supposed leader of the Yellow Harpies.
She always heard rumors about The leader being a blood thirsty cut throat who did the most violent and horrible things and to hear that Dinak of all people was the leader who they called " the undefeated Reaper" Dinak didn't seem like the sort of violent type.
But then again she only knew so little of him even tho she worked for his family over three years now.He only spoke occasionally and when he did many of his words did not seem genuine or feel like he fully committed to many of them.
But behind his sometimes Lazy expression he held great ambition. Ambition that was almost scary she had almost lost all ambition in her life but yet still somehow made it through.
Dinak finally stopped and stood in front of a large worn down building that had most definitely seen better days of course theses were common but this one was strange they walked to the entrance were two men were seated they where large and had faces that could shatter glass. she saw that they each had a weapon one a large curved sword and the other a massive club.
Aril: Hey Dinak maybe we should just go back.
He did not listen but rather said something strange and they bowed and allowed them to pass inside was no better than the outside of the building and the company inside did not seem any more friendly there was a different door that they passed through and on the other side was a massive crowd of people shouting and cheering making bets and observing the action that was going on in side a deep pit .
Inside were two men one larger than both the men outside and the other was not impressive in any way and in just a matter of seconds the large man had picked up the smaller and drove him head first into the stone ground. And by the way the crowed cheered they wanted more.
Aril felt her insides turn and in luck Dinak signed her to follow him she was relieved she didn't like fighting her brother and father were forced into fighting pits for people who were to scared to fight themselves and forced to die for someone else's joy and entertainment.
She looked up at Dinak and asked him "hey Dinak were are we are we in some underground fighting pit oh something who owns this place and why are we here??
Dinak looked back at her and said well your right this is an underground fighting pit belonging to the Yellow Harpies and since it belongs to them it belongs to me so who owns it I guess you could say me he said that with such a nonchalant face it was frightening and he said he owned the place wouldn't that make him the leader??
He turned back to her and said don't worry nothing bad will happen to us here we'll be just fine.
he gave her a reassuring smile she gave him a faint one in response clearly unsure of what was happening. they finally walked through some double doors and entered a room with a
boney old man with a long white Beard and tired old eyes counting coins and writing on some paper he looked up and gave a toothless smile
"Master Dinak it's been soon time now"
Dinak Pov
I brought Aril with me to the fighting pits of the yellow Harpies she doesn't seem to happy I had brought he in hopes of learning from Mazdu the old man who manages all our money I wanted him to teach her every thing he knew about money.
I also told him of my plans to open a brothel he was not to keen at first but looked through some papers and shock his head saying it was to much money we didn't have I then asked him to just be patient and teach Aril he seemed to agree .
I looked back at Aril and tried to give her a reassuring smile she still seemed unconvinced.I went out of the room telling Mazdu to get ready for having to manage the income my brothel will make . as expected he seemed confused.
I rushed to the pits and looked around for a while and dragged a tall lanky young man from the crowed he seemed annoyed but once seeing who it was he held back his anger and gave a slight bow
Dinak: no need to be so formal Zackre
Zackre: Of course sir
Dinak sighed and simply waved his hand Zackre was one of the best fighters in the gang besides Dinak and was a skilled leader but he was overconfident in his abilities that when Dinak challenged him and said he would surrender to his service in the past he quickly took up the offer and lost and ever since then has been humble and has been in Dinaks service.
Dinak looked at the gathered members and looked back at Zackre
Dinak: get everyone ready we move out.
Zackre: were to sir
Dinak: to put everything into our control first every merchant and brothel owner in Yunkai then we feast after all after tonight we must be in control of everything and everyone soon we will rule not just this city but all of slavers bay who knows maybe even the world.
Zackre: Forgive me sir but many men dream of conquest and ruling the world but so little Even come close our ancestors were some of the very men I speak of they had an Empire as old and as large as any other but still they never took the world infact they crumbled under the foot of Valiriya before that even I don't think ruling the world is a realistic goal.
Dinak: Ohh Zackre I never thought you would have such doubt but no matter our first step for now is the business of Yunkai then the city afterwards we move onto Astapor then Meeren .
Dinak looked back at the fighting pits with a fire in his eyes.
"Don't worry he said calmly if all goes well we will be able to Rule the world but only and if only my plans work out well" for now tho gather the men we move tonight.
