Chương 27: Ruby Clan vs Diamond Clan
Outside Diamond Clan's fortress a hundred men had gathered, laying siege on it. These men belonged to Ruby Clan. The neighboring shops had been shut down by the owners and families had fled their houses, taking refuge elsewhere. The news of war between the two powerhouses of the city spread like wildfire! Everyone was anxious.
Stones city did not have a city chief or its own forces for peace keeping as the three clans that inhabited almost all of the land here had a tacit understanding between them thus far and had enough forces to defend the city against any external invasion long enough to buy time for Empyrean army to move in for defense.
But now the order that had been preserved for almost a century, was about to be disrupted.
"Come out, Diamond Clan bastards! We'll rip you to shreds!" Someone among the Ruby clan shouted.
"You think we're a push over? Come out! We'll show you Ruby Clan's power!"
"Diamond bastards! Return our young mistress to us."
Such voices called out, however they got no response. Diamond clan's archers had emerged on the walls & minarets of the fortress, targeting the Ruby clan forces. But they were all shocked as they saw Ruby Wang standing at the front of his forces. His upper body was naked, revealing his brawny physique, strong biceps and tough chest. His abs seemed sculpted stones as he stood on his spot glaring up the fortress wall confidently. An iron mace was hanging by his belt. He had a domineering & fearless stance.
"Clan Lord. Things aren't looking good." An elder rushed to the Diamond Clan's strategy hall to report the siege.
There he found his clan lord Shi naked. Diamond Shi was a lean ripped man in his 50s with a long beard and moustache, but a bald head. Shi made his decision and quickly donned his clothes on.
Boom!!! Suddenly a deafening sound echoed and vibrations could be felt even inside the fortress.
"Humph!" Shi snorted. "Wang has made his move. Very good. I'll test his power myself."
Diamond Shi and Ruby Wang were old rivals in business. Now their relation had turned to that of open enemies. Shi was naturally eager to exchange blows with Wang.
Outside the fortress, a section of a thick wall had been broken. Wang furiously barged into it with large strides. His iron mace was flickering with lighting arcs. Behind him tens of men broke into the fortress and immediately faced a barrage of arrows from the archers up on the wall. The battle had begun.
"Come on out, Diamond Shi!" Wang hollered, waving his iron mace. Quickly he was met by spear warriors charging towards him with valor.
"Lightning crush!" Wang shouted, smashing the ground with his mace and immediately cracks formed on the ground and lightning arcs flashed, moving towards the Diamond clan warriors with great speed, toppling the ground as the arcs hit them. Ruby clan warriors moved forth and pounced on the dazed enemies stuck in the toppled ground. Blood was shed, screams resounded. Cries were heard and numerous attacks were launched. Chaos filled the surroundings.
"Lightning meteor!" Wang shouted again and leapt off the ground, seemingly flying towards the fortress's main building. There were lightning arcs erupting from his feet, propelling him like a meteor.
Boom! He crashed into a wall and pierced through it with his iron mace.
Boom! He was thrown back out and landed several feet back on the ground but on his feet. Diamond Shi flew out from inside the building with a spear in his hand, charging towards Wang. Wang used Lightning Meteor move again and met him head on in mid-air.
Boom! A strong collision resounded as the two men exchanged their attacks. Shi used his spear like a staff to counter Wang's mace. He had the advantage of length of his weapon as well but Wang was actually using an elemental technique, although of low level; while Shi was using an Empyrean technique. Both were good techniques but elemental one had a slight upper hand which began to show as the two men battled it out for long without any words. Since Shi had not responded to Wang's offer/ransom timely, Wang understood that he can only battle it out. He made his move to lure Shi out while he counted on Wind to rescue Lan.
Meanwhile 4 figures flew into the fortress from the back. This area was a strategic loop hole near a blind turn. Scaling the tall walls was no issue for these people. The four men landed inside the wall and quickly snuck inside the fortress. These were Wind and 3 elders of Ruby clan, tasked to rescue Ruby Lan.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Like wind, these men leapt into a hall, quickly scouting around.
"That way!" An elder pointed towards a direction. He obviously had a scouting technique up his sleeve. Wind and others followed his lead. However they were immediately surrounded by 6 men draped in black clothing and masks.
"We've been waiting for you, esteemed guests." One of these men spoke.
"We've been discovered already?!" Wind frowned as he unsheathed his green jade blade. The elders took out their swords as well.
"They must have a scouting expert among them." One of the Ruby elders spoke.
"No matter, let's finish them off!" Wind said and leapt forward.
Clang! Clang! Swords clanged as the men started fighting. The six men Wind's group was facing were the same who had infiltrated Ruby territory and kidnapped Lan. Unaware of this, Wind fought them head on to try finishing them quickly before reinforcements arrive to foil their rescue mission.
"You're a greenhorn." A masked man spoke as he threw out a metal chain which coiled around Wind's blade and pulled on it with great force. Wind however, stood his ground, pulling back.
"& you're a dead man." Wind said with a frown as he suddenly used a sword dance move, leaping towards his opponent startling him and jabbed at him with the green jade blade.
However, the man fished out several darts and tossed them at Wind. Since Wind was in air, he couldn't agilely dodge them all while advancing towards the man. So he decisively altered his direction, landing away from the trajectories, evading the darts but his own surprise attack had failed too. Immediately, two more men leapt at him from the sides while the first one pulled on Wind's blade again which was still stuck with the metal chain. Wind was in a pinch. The two men slashed at Wind.
Clang! Their blades stabbed at the floor as Wind had leapt away, letting go of his blade which was quickly pulled over by the first man. Now Wind was without a weapon. The Ruby elders were occupied fighting one man each. Wind was standing against 3 opponents on his own. This was possible due to the fact that he had at Master realm cultivation while the elders were still at Advanced realm.
Wind carefully examined his opponents.
"Humph! So much for a Master level warrior! You don't seem to have much experience in battle." The first man spoke as he handled Wind's jade blade and examined it, looking at its tip. "Letting go the weapon is akin to taking a step into your own grave."
He was actually correct. Wind did not have much experience in battle. In his past life he spent all the time researching dual cultivation techniques and having sex with thousands of women. In this life he hadn't had fought many opponents either.
But this did not mean that he was weak. Wind smirked as he held out his right hand and pushed forward.
Gshak! The green jade blade pierced through the throat of its wielder. A shocked expression was visible from his wide open eyes as he choked on his own blood.
"Sword Dance-Extended Hand." Wind uttered with a smirk as he made a pulling gesture and the green jade blade was pulled out as though magnetically attracted by Wind's hand and flew towards his hand, leaving the other two men dumbfounded.
"Damn it!" One of them broke out of his stupor and shouted. He leapt at Wind in a suicidal manner. The other followed quickly after him. Wind could manipulate his green jade blade by using 'extended hand' move of the Sword Dance technique, which in turn was an Empyrean technique. Every Empyrean technique had its trump cards. However, Wind's trump card was limited to a few moves only. He could not use complicated moves and manipulate the blade freely. He could only do push, pull, lift and turn movements and not speedily. This was still enough to give him an edge and surprise his opponents.
Swoosh! The suicidal man lunged at Wind and swung his blade in a curve. Wind simply dodged him and moved around, attacking the second man! Their tactic was pretty obvious to Wind. They intended to sacrifice the one in the front so that the man behind him could deal a fatal surprise blow at Wind. Unfortunately for them, Wind's movements were too agile and fast. Before they could change their tactic, Wind attacked and cleaved their heads off one by one. His higher cultivation level showed its advantage.
Meanwhile the other Ruby elders had also dealt with their opponents. They themselves had received some injuries but those weren't fatal. After catching their breaths they moved towards where Lan was.
Outside, the two clan lords were battling it out like maniacs. Wang was strong and fast. Shi was agile, persistent and cunning. They were evenly matched despite the difference in their techniques. Other than them, the warriors of both clans were also going fiercely at it. Corpses had piled up already. The ground was dyed red. Techniques were being cast and bright flashes of chi sparked everywhere.
Inside, it was a mess. Several walls had been broken. Furniture was destroyed; dead bodies could be seen here and there. Bloodstains were everywhere.
"You can't run Ruby elders! This fortress shall be your graveyard!" A Diamond elder shouted as he and tens of warriors had surrounded Ruby elders in a hall.
"Humph! Do not think we're afraid of death!"
"Each one of us will bring down at least four of you to hell with us."
"Today is the day we settle score with your Diamond clan once and for all."
Ruby elders shouted one after another. However these were merely last roars of dying tigers. They were outnumbered and their fate was obvious unless some miracle were to happen. Wind could help them survive longer but he simply wasn't there.
Yes, Wind had snuck away from the group according to their improved plan. Since they had been found out, the elders could only use themselves as bait to draw out the internal security while Wind dashes to save the damsel in distress.
Inside the strategy room a black girl was being fucked in all holes by seven men. These men were all elders of Diamond clan in the peak levels of Advanced realm cultivation.
Suddenly one of them sniffed in the air smelling a pungent smell before his eyes widened and he coughed out blood.
"Poison incense!" He cried out, clutching his collar. All of them were alerted and quickly barged out, carrying Lan along, pulling her by the hair.
By one or twos, they stepped out the door and were immediately hacked down by a green jade blade. The ones in the back got the chance to slip past and stood their stance in the corridor, glaring at their ambusher who was none other than Wind.
Outside, the battle between clan lords was getting intense.
"Lighting strike!" Wang shouted and aimed his mace towards Shi, shooting out a lightning bolt at him.
Kroom!! Bright light flashed as the lighting struck at Shi who parried it with his spear and hurled it back at Wang who was momentarily stupefied!
Boom! Wang was flung away and crashed into a wall. Shi quickly followed after him, disappearing inside the fortress.
Meanwhile at some other part inside the fortress, Wind was facing remaining elders.
"Antidote." Wind uttered, tossing out a flower towards the remaining elders. There were 3 of them. They recognized this flower which was a natural antidote of the poison incense. Not left with much of a choice, they sniffed it one by one as the poison incense was powerful and could kill a person within minutes. With their base undergoing a battle, finding the only doctor of Diamond Clan would not be easy. They'd be dead before finding him and asking for antidote. Thus although they were confused about Wind's action, they took the antidote first despite their suspicion.
Wind then pointed towards Lan, indicating the elders to use the antidote on her. They complied because Lan was precious for their clan lord. They couldn't let her die. This was the same for Wind. He couldn't let her die either. He had to use the poison incense earlier so that no one would try to pull one up on him by taking Lan as hostage on a blade's edge. Although they wouldn't kill her, but they could still inflict some harm on her or use her as meat shield. Using the confusion and frantic reactions of the elders, Wind was able to shave down their numbers. Three elders alone were not a threat to him.
However the elders didn't seem threatened. They smiled instead.
"Make a move and we'll kill her." One of the warned.
"We all know that you won't." Wind replied shaking his head. "Try to come up with something else." Saying so, he started walking towards them slowly. Each step of his made their hearts thump faster. They saw a soul reaper coming towards them in disguise of Wind.
"D-damn it." One of them cursed, stepping forward and clapped his hands. His chi flared as he spent it without reserves and formed a chi wall between them and Wind.
"Escape!" Other elder shouted and sprinted away at great speed. The third elder followed him, bringing Lan along but he suddenly fell down face first on the floor. A great pain assaulted his legs and he turned his head to find that his legs had been lopped off! There was blood gushing out profusely. Behind him a headless elder had collapsed on the floor. Wind was simply too fast! Only one elder managed to escape, only because Wind had no interest in chasing him.
Raising his green jade blade, Wind slashed down killing that elder easily before glancing at the unconscious Lan. Her holes were dripping of semen and there were cuts and bruises all over her body. At once Wind's heart winced at her pitiful sight.
Sighing, he squatted down, taking off his long shirt and putting it on Lan before lifting her up on his shoulder. He then quickly turned to escape but a flash of lightning struck at him which he reflexively parried on his jade blade which was luckily a bad conductor of lightning.
Wind was still pushed backwards from the impact and his shoes skidded on the floor. He looked at this attacker in shock.
"Wang! What the hell is the meaning of this?" Wind shouted with a frown.
