Chương 56: Shi'ar Thor Part IV

He drowned out all sound in the area, just bowing his head low. The ground beneath him was covered in ash, the city of Chandilar almost completely gone, only small sections of the city still standing, yet extremely damaged. Even now, parts of it crumbled away sending plumes of ash into the air that fell down upon them like snow.

Chandilar, once a shining beacon of the Shi'ar Empires might and majesty, now reduced to ash.

It was a blow all felt heavily.

"Thor'Shir." Raising his head, Thor looked at the group walking towards him.

T'Korr was at the lead of the group, Gladiator by his side, injured but healing. They were the only ones who did not look upon him with hatred and fear, instead, T'Korr's expressed deep sympathy and regret. After all, laying before Thor was the body of his father, Rook'Shir, Blade of Phal'Kon impaled through his chest.

It had not been an easy victory, not even with the power of Phal'Kon in his possession, nor with Gladiator at his side. Rook'Shir had been the Avatar of Phal'Kon for many decades, had spent many years wielding and familiarising himself with her powers. With his madness, Rook'Shir's powers only grew stronger. On the other hand, Thor'Shir despite being reinvigorated by the powers of Phal'Kon had been inexperienced in the use of them.

The battle had not been easy.

"It is done?" T'Korr questioned, Thor nodding his head.

"It is done, Majestor." Rising to his feet, Thor drew the Blade of Phal'Kon from his fathers chest and moved towards T'Korr. However, Gladiator intercepted, one hand braced against Thor's chest, stopping him from standing by the side of the Majestor.

Thor himself, paused, looking down at the hand against his chest and then to Gladiator.

The man met his gaze, a slight shaking of his head the only answer he needed for what was coming. "Majestor?" Thor questioned, looking to the man in question. "What is the meaning of this?" He could see behind T'Korr, the looks of triumph that came across the faces of the Majestor's aides.

They were behind this, that was clear to see.

"Leave us." T'Korr dismissed his aides.

This caught them by surprise. "But Majestor, it's not safe."

"I will have Gladiator by my side, no harm shall befall me," T'Korr stated firmly, moving forwards, one hand resting on Thor's shoulder as he directed him a little ways away. "Forgive me for this, Thor'Shir, but the damage has already been done."

"I do not understand."

T'Korr sighed heavily. "In my grief for what had befallen your father, my aides manipulated events. Your father is seen far and wide, as the villain, the monster who existed only to destroy the Shi'ar Empire. But not just your father, you as well."

"Those arrogant fools!" Thor snarled, glaring out hatefully at the aides. The sparks of flames that came out from his shoulders only made their smug faces shift into fear, cowering away. "Allow me to kill them, Majestor. They have betrayed you, committed acts of treason, they must be dealt with."

"They will, in time." T'Korr appeased. "But not today and not by you."

Thor could barely contain himself, the flames continually flickering around his body, his anger palpable as the temperature around him increased dramatically. The nobles of the Shi'ar Empire had never liked his father, never liked the idea that Phal'Kon had chosen a peasant over their noble bloodline. It was not surprising to him that they had done this, but it angered him all the same.

"Why not?"

"Because in doing so, you would only prove the rumours they had spread to be true," T'Korr told him. "You must have patience, Thor'Shir, as your father had many times in the past. Their treason has and will not be forgotten, but for now, you must go into exile. I will work to undo the damage that they have caused so that you may return to us."

"So that's it?" Thor angrily asked. "I kill my father, I go through all this, and yet I am exiled?"

"Not forever, that I promise you, Thor'Shir." T'Korr appeased. "Please, trust me."

The Wanderer of the Universe.

That is what they called him.

A man who endless wandered to the far reaches of the universe in search of something no one could understand except him. A man filled with wonderous tales of great adventures, stories of powerful beasts and monsters he had seen. There were many who dreamed of travelling and seeing all that the universe had to offer, yet very few had come close to achieving it, not like he had.

But there was one thing those ambitious adventurers did not understand.

The universe was vast, but it was only part of the universe, one dimension that possessed life within it. Yet, he continued to travel, exploring ancient ruins, travelling the paths of ancient myths in search of the powers they described.

He needed it.

It was along those travels he encountered many of his counterparts.

Travels that first brought him to Midgard and a meeting with the First of their kind. One who guarded the ancient weapon of Thor Odinson, Mjolnir. It had been strange, he had thought he was the first of their kind, but he was a child in comparison to the age of the First Thor. Infantile and weak in comparison to the power he possessed.

But it had proven only to be a greater driving force behind his search for power.

Yet it also gave him a new goal, one not only to wander the universe for powerful artefacts but to also search for others like them, other Thor's. It was what led to the formation of the Citadel of Thor's, built in the spacecraft once the home of the chosen representatives of the Lifestone Tree Treaty.

Only for that to end in ruin when he found it gone.

He had heard rumours of it wandering across the universe, heard rumours of the destruction it left in its wake. The Citadel of Thor's in his absence had changed, now no longer working in pursuit of saving Asgard, but conquering races.

For what reason Thor did not know, but whoever was the new ruler of the Citadel, he was not a Thor that he could work alongside. Yet it was also because of that Citadel, he had not found any other Thor's. They were either all gone, or they were taken by the Citadel, forcibly fused against their will or no doubt, joining their cause.

So he had given up on that, instead continuing his pursuit of new ways to expand his power. The First Thor had possessed more power than he, yet even he did not have the power of the original, the one they all derived from. Even he had not possessed the power of Odin and so, without such strength in their grasp, saving Asgard would be impossible.

If Odin with all his strength and wisdom could save their people, then with their meagre strength, neither could they. Most of the myths turned up little as result, those that did, were nothing impressive. Very few actually provided much in terms of meaningful power and even then, they paled in comparison to the gems he already had.

But as he exited the ancient ruins, throwing aside the red gem he had gained, the energy within absorbed into the God-Stone, part of a series of jewels dotted around the neck of his armour like a necklace. There was little power in it, but the properties of the God-Stone enabled it to absorb power and store it within.

Yet as he discarded the jewel, he sensed something in the distance and looked to the sky. There, even through the clouds, was the image of a burning creature flying through space. But it was not the sight of it that caught Thor's attention, no it was the mind connected to it.

Closing his eyes, Thor reached out. 'Hello, Thor.'
