Chương 13: Reality vs Fiction
P.S. This will be an extremely long chapter so strap in and ready yourself.
Maybe I should have shortened it, but I got carried away with the fighting…hope you guys enjoy!
[TIMESKIP 2 WEEKS]
It has been two weeks since I have started my vigilante work and I have to say that it is nowhere near as easy as I first believed, physically, or mentally.
On my first night out, I targeted mainly muggers and car jackers, nothing special.
How I went about all of this is I firstly ensnared them up with my Ryujo rope from afar to immobilize them and then hit them in key areas to knock them unconscious with either my sphere shaped Ryujo or my fists. I then reabsorbed my energy constructs in order to not leave any evidence for the authorities, and finally I left their unconscious bodies near hero or police patrol routes for them to pick up.
I don't really know if all the petty criminals that I catch are sent to prison, but I know for a fact that the majority are, since most have a criminal background (I know I tailed them to make sure).
I couldn't really hunt for the big fish yet because there are always many heroes out on the street at night and I don't want to risk getting spotted by them, that would be troublesome.
The first week continued like this and it made me feel like I gained a lot of street knowledge and experience from this week alone.
However, the next week would be a lot tougher for me due to mainly one important event. In this event I quickly learned that things are a lot harder then they seem.
[Flashback 1 week ago]

I was currently running and leaping from building to building in the industrial area located in the lower areas of Fukuoka, Japan. After some time, I suddenly stopped at a building overlooking an empty looking warehouse where all the lights are off, and the humongous front doors are open.
I was here because yesterday I brutally caught a criminal that was trying to restrain a woman in a back alley, I broke many of his bones while interrogating him and he gave me a location for where underground slave operations seem to be happening.
Now these operations aren't exactly rare, lately they have been appearing more and more as someone is attempting to make this their domain, as well as making a large profit.
They haven't been too successful lately since plenty of heroes are investigating these locations and shutting them down. Yet this location seems to be desolate, and no one seems to be staking it out except for me.
I believe the culprits are the Yakuza or more specifically, the old houses of Yakuza who have recently separated themselves from the new leader of the Yakuza due to his decision to avoid causing harm to civilians and adding restrictions on drug sales.
I personally believe that he made this choice because in this day and age where heroes are rampant, it is inevitable that they would be caught and destroyed if they cause major incidents over the country.
The old families clearly did not like this decision – likely because it cut into profits – and they soon separated from the main family.
Ever since, there has been an ongoing gang war happening all over the city, and this has been happening for a few months' time.
As I inspect the building, I find nothing strange with it, it truly seems to be abandoned, there is even garbage and dust collecting on the floor.
I decided enough was enough, so I focused my attention on my Zenchigan and what I found surprised me.
200 meters underground there seems to be a hidden bunker that's large and unnaturally constructed. There are two rooms it seems, one larger and one smaller, and one seems to be for the captives and one for the guards.
If I had to guess I would bet all of my money on that someone with some sort of digging quirk created this bunker underground for this specific purpose.
I know this because using my aura scrying, I can not only clearly see 5 black auras surrounding what appears to be a table and two larger humanoids covered in red aura standing in front of about 20 lighter auras of different colors which are fluctuating regularly.
{which likely means that they are going through extreme emotional turmoil, or they are badly injured, likely both.}
As I was looking for a way into the rooms without causing too much damage or noise I had a lucky break, it seems that another batch of slaves was being brought in because out of thin air a large cage begins to shimmer into existence next to a figure which was clad in black and which I can only assume possesses a teleportation quirk.
This figure then walks towards a random side wall and adds pressure onto a random small rock, which then suddenly causes a circular passage to appear out of the ground, it seems to be newly made because debris is clearly falling from the passage roof and some dirt is being expulsed outwards.
A minute later two fearsome figures show up and carry the cage into the circular tunnel, the figure follows them and as the tunnel entrance was about to close up, I quickly used Ryujo on my legs and moved at the fastest speed I could, luckily I made it just in time as right as I had my foot in, everything went dark and all that could be heard was the large footprints, and a few low wails from the cage, that where reverberating across the tunnel walls. I thought I saw something shining in the cage, but I ignored it and continued after the criminals.
I silently followed the 3 figures until they entered a well-lit room that had hard packed brown dirt for the walls, floor, and ceiling. In the center of this room lay a table with drinks, card games, and even a sofa at one corner.
I could clearly see bloodstains and what appeared to be body fluids all over the sofa, so I am assuming that it is used for sex.
And I was correct in my assumptions, because as soon as the two large figures which I could now clearly see are two similar looking minotaur's. Set down the cage two rough looking guys stand up and head towards it.
Inspecting the large figures, I think {Apparently, their quirks give them access to every aspect of the legendary minotaur because they surely have everything that the originals have}. They both have large black bulls' heads, large arms that could pulverize stone with a squeeze, a large torso full of large muscles, and finally goat like legs with hooves at the ends.
The two minotaur's quickly enter a large doorframe and leave the five figures to inspect the new slaves.
What I could see inside where around 5 middle-aged women with clothes torn, 1 female teenager that seems to be about 14 or 15, and one young girl that seems to be my age. There was also 2 large men, and 1 scrawny kid seems to be bleeding from various places.
As I looked on the situation, I could hear one of the two men say: "Hey Sozu check out that young girl, I bet we can have fun with her as our boss is having fun with the older ones."
The other man who is apparently named Sozu responds: "Your right Reji, boss doesn't go for the young ones."
As this is happening another conversation is also happening, back to the dark clad individual who walks up to the table where the three other men are playing a game of cards and states gruffly, "I brought you a new batch, now where the fuck is my money you cunts."
Two of the men seem to react negatively as they stand up and yell obscenities at the man, yet one of them which seems to have the most poise replies while handing him a large portfolio of cash, "Here is what we said we would pay for more slaves and seeing the quality of this batch is so high you can keep all the money."
As this is all going down, I quickly came up with a plan of action and began just as the two men reach the cage gate and open it.
Once the cage was open, I quickly shoot all the lanterns in the area with Ryujo bullets which floods the room into darkness, and I quickly focus on my aura scrying. I see all the men's auras through my eyes, and I quickly choose my first targets. The two rapist pigs.
I create two small knives out of my Ryujo in each hand, I throw the one in my left hand at the one called Sozu's Adam's apple with my full might, and I throw the one in my right hand at the one named Reji's left eye.
The knives quickly penetrate their target and they both fall dead on the ground. I then run towards the other 4 men and kick one of the goons in the balls with all of my Ryujo strength, he bends forward with a hollow scream and falls unconscious.
I then again take advantage of their ignorance and move to the last remaining goon; he doesn't even see me coming as I barrel towards him and use a thin Ryujo sword that I created to pierce him like a stuck pig.
This time there is a loud holler coming from the dying man, so the two last men know the situation is dire.
I once again run towards the "boss," and aim a high kick at his face but he quickly sidesteps to my left and jabs at my unprotected face.
I avoid the punch but as I was about to retaliate with another Ryujo sword I get punched in the face hard by the dark clad man.
I quickly roll backwards with the fall and crouch to get a better angle of my two enemies, I then create a spool of Ryujo rope and swing at their legs.
They are unable to see the rope coming as its still pitch dark, so they get grabbed, and tumble backwards. As they were falling backwards, I use all the Ryujo that my short legs can handle and sprint once again to the "boss," of this operation.
As I reach him, I cock back my fist, aim at his temple, and punch with all my Ryujo enhanced strength. This sends him crashing into the wall right by the large doorframe. I see him try to move again but just as he was about to stand a large hoof comes down onto his back and presses him down and quickly sends him down into the land of the dead.
I quickly notice that a minotaur is at the door frame blocking the little light coming from the other room, he's clearly squinting into the darkness trying to find the source of the racket. He then looks down and stomps his foot again to try to remove a bind that has suddenly latched onto his foot. He stomps again and again making *squelch* sounds again and again.
Finally, after 10 seconds straight of that, the *squelching* sound stops and then a large "ROAR* reverberates across the room.
{Well, it seems he noticed that he's been stomping on his boss's dead corpse}
As this spectacle is happening, I forget about the dark clad man for a moment, and this is when he pulls a gun out of his hood and shoots at me with a loud *BANG*.
Luckily, I had my safe zone because as he made that sudden movement, I realized my mistake and ducked out of the way.
He realizes that he missed due to the sound of a bullet hitting a wall, and fires again and again towards my direction. As he's shooting, I have a clear sight of where he is pointing his gun, so I avoid its trajectory and move towards him.
As I get closer, I see his panicked face due to the flashes of the gun and once I'm right on top of him I create a short knife and plunge it at the center of his forehead.
All sound then stops and all you can hear is a *thump* from the body… and heavy breathing.
I look back towards the minotaur and what greets me is the sight of it getting on all fours readying himself for a charge into the darkness.
I would normally let him charge blindly into the wall but that might cause this whole bunker to collapse, and not only would I die but the prisoners would as well.
So, I charge towards his position instead, as I run, I create the thickest Ryujo spear that I can and plant it on the ground at my feet.
As he's right on top of me and about to collide with me and my spear I quickly add as much Ryujo as I can to my arms and legs to reinforce them, then plant myself as deeply as I can.
The next second I feel like I was run over by a locomotive, and as all the air in my lungs is evacuating from my body, I began to scream as some of my arm and leg bones snap like twigs.
That's when I knew I fucked up.
The only reassuring thought however is that due to my Ryujo reinforcing my bones I still have all the important bones intact, and that I can still stimulate my muscles to move.
As I look to where the minotaur crashed, I see a sight that fills me with relief. The creature is on all fours, but he isn't moving, he's just spasming over and over, and bleeding profusely out of all his orifices; this is all due to the Ryujo spear still stuck Deeply into his chest cavity.
I quickly reabsorb the spear in order to let the guy die quickly from bleeding out as well as to prevent him from making some sort of comeback.
I then lay there for a minute staring at the nonvisible ceiling and as I refocus on my surroundings, I can hear crying and banging from my left, so I turn my head and that is when I remember the cage of slaves.
I quickly stand up, but as I was about to move towards them, I hear another loud *ROAR*.
I quickly think: {goddamnit I forgot about that other fucking minotaur.}
Before the creature can investigate why his brother called out and is missing, I move towards the thrown over table and I feel for anything I can throw. I quickly find the deck of cards and two beer bottles.
I quickly grab the bottles and smash the bottoms on the ground. I grab the remains of the bottle and once the last remaining minotaur is standing at the doorway and looking at his bosses cooling corpse, I throw the bottles with all of my remaining strength at his wide eyes.
The two bottles zoom and penetrate the eyes like a hot knife through butter, but at the same time I don't see him fall over dead.
The Minotaur roars again in pain and this time instead of charging me like some wild animal he runs over to the slave pins behind him, and tears open the cell door. He quickly grabs a girl that seems to have seen hell because her eyes are empty of life, she is nude, and seems to be covered in dark stains of dried blood and dried semen.
The blind minotaur then speaks in an extremely low voice, "Whoever you are you better not come in here or this girl gets it!"
I'm stunned by this because throughout this whole interaction I hadn't had to speak to anyone; but I quickly regather myself and reply, "she already seems dead so go ahead and do it, while you're at it ill relieve myself on this giant dead corpse of your idiotic brother."
Of course, this is a bluff in order to get him to charge me and leave the innocents alone and just like I predicted, it worked.
He replies angrily, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BROTHER! Y-YOU… YOU ARE A DEAD MAN!" he throws the girl away like a piece of garbage and charges at me blindly…literally.
Anyways what happens next is I copy a move from the original Bullseye, I grab all the cards I can and throw them full force at the charging man. They stick but they don't go nearly deep enough to kill.
I throw card after card, yet he is still charging. I am now in a pickle because I have very little energy and I doubt that if use my remaining Ryujo to create a sword or something I will survive long.
Afterall we are still deeply underground, and I need my energy in order to smash open the entrance. Therefore, I quickly think of something crazy and create a small knife and quickly throw it at one of the horns of the dead minotaur beside me. The knife cuts through the horn's width and as the large horn clatters to the ground I grab it up and raise it with both arms.
This time I don't wait to stand in the way of the charging beast and instead I throw it at his open wound on his face (remember the eyes where previously destroyed). This thankfully does the trick of ending his existence as he quickly drops onto the ground dead, yet his body is still moving towards me due to all the momentum.
I quickly jump and roll to my right, yet his left horn still catches my side and tears a chunk of meat from my body; and as I worry that his corpse will still hit the wall of the bunker I watch as the two large corpses of the two dead brothers collide.
With another loud *bang* tons of dust particles rise to cover the gruesome scene.
After everything settles down, I once again stare at the darkened ceiling and think to myself.
{Fuck this was a hard fight… I'm still too weak to take on the strong.}
And with that final thought my mind fades into the land of dreams.
