this is a very refreshing novel. l found it in daily recommendation, intent on reading it for 15mins for the points but l haven't been able to drop it. The storyline is different and interesting. Command of English is superb .Story development is great. Not your usual drop dead awa ken somewhere else novel. This is epic
It wasn’t bad. Neera was very naive though, she was the perfect victim, always just letting herself get abused she knows no one likes her and the people asking for her never have good intentions yet she always just hope for the best and stick up for them despite them having no mercy on her. Why not just accept the favors of the king and get rid of her problems? She knows they’ll never stop trying to kill her oh well. She’s an airhead. The king certainly never helped though he practically begged everyone to beat the poor girl to death with his obsessive actions. He says he tries to restrain himself but from the moment he saw her there was no restraint. He was the easiest victim to fall in a trap I’ve ever seen. The story lacked character description 50 or so chapters in well finally know the hair color or eye color of a recurring character. Azriel, im guessing, is around the same age as the king? he’s been a rake all those years yet the instant he saw Penelope, neera’s bestie, his playboy tendencies just dropped and he’s immediately obsessed with her? It’s such a overplayed cliche. All 900+ years he’s been on earth or in hell he’s never wanted to settle down or felt passionate about a woman but seeing a hardworking human maid is enough to make him not sleep around? What’s so die ciao or different about her to make him change his ways? He’s never had a hard to get woman before after living for that long? Very unbelievable. Didn’t he say seeing his friend being inlove made him not want that yet the moment he saw her he’s basically a one woman man after that. The characters in this book seem to be cut from the same cloth they immediately fall for a person at first sight, Lyra’s brother for neera is another example of that. I have no issue with pen finding a man but it feels forced her relationship between the commander and her. Sorta like a Disney plot. Oh because the main characters fell in love the best friends of the main characters have to get together too. Like a Barbie movie. I saw it coming though but still. Anyway it wasn’t a bad read. This story was captivating. I loved the idea behind it and all the suspence, twists and turns that kept me hooked to reading it. This is the second novel that I finished reading, but since the other one was not finished, I could safely say it's the first book that retained me until its end. 🤗
I really love the story between the main couple. It pulls you in and you get addicted to it. Am not really fond of the 2nd lead couple, their love story is too cliche not something I haven't read about before. Overall it's a great story.

Felt like I was on a rollercoaster of thousands of twirling emotions. From curiosity to love to anger to sadness to longing and all emotions ever to be felt. it's mind-blowing, lovely characters, lovely write up..... everything's just......... so far in (17 chapters when i pisted that comment) it is nice, intriguing and you feel the mystery and some might-be sparks in the future between the ML and FL, BUT (which i actually love) it isn't like instant love at first sight! she even fear him right of now... but she look too much like his dead wife so........ how is it going to go 😍😍? she is growing a back bone also 💜 which i love! i can't wait for more !
