Short Story ─ New Year in Aster
The new year had arrived, since we weren't in the Kingdom we had to spend it here in Aster.
Me and the others were in a temple in Aster, it reminded me of those Buddhist temples for some reason.
The idiots and Erselica moved ahead as they were going to ask for money and useless things as they did.
Next to me were the girls.
In the distance I could see other acquaintances like Diana and Lugh, Jude and even Sara's family.
It seems that even the elites of the country must be coming too.
Airi who was wearing a scarf because of the cold weather was saying to me.
"Rudel-san, it seems that unlike the Kingdom, here one must go to a temple to pray."
In the Kingdom you didn't pray like that during the new year, you just say a prayer and they demanded money from us.
Here you just go to a temple, deposit money to ask the sacred tree to give you health, money and other things.

"I want to eat ribs and a big pitcher of beer."
"Erselica-sama, you don't have much tolerance for alcohol."
"It's New Year's Cana, just let yourself go a little!"
The group was lively, but four gazes were focused on Rudel's back which was being held down by Chlust and Clovis to tickle him.
(Just one more year.)
They thought, but it didn't end there.
(In a year... or maybe a little less me...)
They all touched their bellies in unison.
Alisa and Airi looked at each other and smiled.
(We must show them that we are number one.)
(No matter how many women come, they can never beat their first friends and girlfriends.)
Their smiles were very different from Lucy's and Sara's, but they all had the same thought of exactly what they will do in a year.
And so, a year ended and a year came.
"Happy New Year."
Said Ixion who was observing everything.
His gaze focused on the sacred tree.
"Let's hope this year will be different from the last, or else... we'll have to act again."
Despite everything being happiness, only Ixion was uneasy as he looked at the tree as he made his way to the ship.
