The small doctor crouched down hugging his knees, twenty three years had passed since he decided to walk away from the happiness he once shared with that golden-eyed man.

"Didn't you promise to set me free once I gave birth to this child?"

"Why do you suddenly want to leave now? What's my fault? What's our child's fault that you want to leave him?"

"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have lied to myself that I can still love you after everything that has happened."

Alex only snapped out of his reverie when his phone vibrated, showing an incoming call from a number he hadn't saved. 

Why was Ryley's friend calling him again?

His hand quickly went up to wipe away tears from his damp cheeks before he picked up the call. "Y-Yes?"
