Entering the school is like going through a warzone the next day. The media got ahold of the fact that All Might is at UA, and they are desperate to get a word from the man. It's got to the point where they are resorted to harassing students in hopes that they will get something.
Satoru considers it a sad sight. Why do people willingly enter this career path again? He will never know the answer.
"Can you tell us something about All Might?!" One of the reporters ask as soon as one sees Satoru. That seems to be a signal for the wild reporters as they surround him, asking questions that he does not want to answer.
Satoru clicks his tongue, "You guys realize that you are harassing a minor, right? I don't even need my mask off to see that."
That does not seem to discourage them as the continue to scream their weird questions. They must like jail.
Satoru decides to ignore them in exchange for walking through them like they aren't there. If he steps on a fallen one on the way to his destiny, he pays no mind to it. Their problem, not his.
"Sorry, I can't see with my mask on," Satoru excuses himself with an innocent smile.
Satoru eventually makes it out of the crowd and enters the classroom to see the students just as roughed up as he is.
"Gojo, you made it!" Kaminari exclaims as he makes his way to him.
Satoru smirks, "Of course I did. I just made my way through. No mercy for them."
Iida comes over as soon as he hears that, "Please tell me you didn't threaten any of them?"
Satoru tilts his head in false confusion, "I didn't threaten them. I just did it."
"That's not good ethics for a student to have!"
"On my behalf, they were harassing a minor. Therefore, they are a villain and must be taken down."
"But we legally can't do anything!"
"With a quirk. You can still shove them aside and maybe walk on top a couple of them and claim it as self-defense."
"Um, yes, but it doesn't mean you should do it!"
Satoru waves him off, "That's all in the past, sir. Right now, we are in the present where we are just going to chill have a great time."
Iida sighs, returning to his previous position. Works for Satoru!
Satoru goes to his seat where Kaminari and Ashido follow him and join on each side of him.
"Gojo, I've been wanting to ask you this since yesterday, so I'm asking it now. What's with the mask?" Kaminari asks.
Ashido smacks him in the shoulder, "You can't just ask someone if they are blind!"
Satoru interrupts them, "Technically, you can and should as long as you don't sound offensive. Either way, I can see you guys. I just have such beautiful eyes that I have to hide them from the world to keep others from stealing them!"
Kaminari gasps, "Really?!"
"Really. It's such a disappointment that I have to hide them from the world, but I guess that's the sacrifice I must make." Satoru may be messing with them, but he is enjoying it nether the less.
Iida must have heard him because he back over to Satoru and stands in front of his desk, "I thought it was for your quirk! If it isn't for your quirk, you aren't allowed to wear that mask on UA grounds!" At this point, students in the class have turned their attention to this stupid argument as there is nothing else to satisfy their need for drama at the moment.
"But Iida, the beauty-"
"Is it part of your quirk?"
"My eye color changed when I got my quirk. Does that count?"
"But does it physically impact someone?"
"It can."
Iida chops his arm, "I mean quirk wise!"
"No."
"Then, you must remove the mask!"
Satoru sighs dramatically, leaning back in his seat, "Why must you be so strict, Iida? Fine, I was messing with everyone. My quirk has increased vision to the point of overwhelming me, thus the mask. Does that excuse it, Iida?"
Iida looks done with him, "…yes."
Satoru sits up, clapping his hands together with a smile, "I'm glad we got that settled! Now, I recommend you sit down because Aizawa-sensei has been waiting outside the door for a while."
That immediately sends the class in a frenzy to sit down. As Satoru said, Aizawa enters the room and approaches the desk.
"Let's get down to business. What you are about to do will determine your future," The man starts out dramatic, causing almost everyone in front of Satoru to freak out, "Today, you will be choosing your class representative."
Everyone releases a held breath.
Aizawa does not seem to care about the anxiety he just gave his students as he continues, " I don't care how you do it as long as you chosen a representative and vice representative before the class is over and it doesn't wake me up."
With that, Aizawa drags his bright yellow sleeping bag to the corner, climbs in, and passes out.
For a moment, there is silence as they make sure that their teacher is asleep.
Once it confirms, the class erupts.
"I want to be representative, vote me for!"
"No, me!"
"I'll make sure the teacher doesn't give us homework over the weekend!"
"I'll bring cookies everyday!"
"I'm totally the right pick!"
Honestly, Satoru is just enjoying the chaos. He has no reason to try for representative. He has higher priorities anyway.
"Everyone, please calm down! This is not the proper way of trying to figure this out!" Iida points out, and for once, Satoru can agree with that. The boy stands up and goes in front of the class.
The redhead boy, Kirishima he believes, explains, "How are we supposed to choose when we have only just met each other?"
"That is an excellent point, but we must choose now. Any ideas?" Satoru raises his hand, "Yes, Gojo?"
"I say we do process of elimination until we are left with two people and vote who is better. For example, we should eliminate Bakugo because his anger issues are not a good representation of us." Satoru is well-aware that there is a better method, but he really wanted to bash Bakugo.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY, BLINDY?!" Bakugo screams as he stands up just to look at him since he is a couple seats back.
"I think everyone heard me. No need to be offended, bro! I'm just telling the truth."
"OH, WHEN WE GET OUT OF HERE, I WILL KICK YOUR ASS-!"
Thankfully, the frog girl interrupts him, "Why don't we just vote? The students with the most votes get the positions." Satoru smirks at Bakugo, and the angry boy glares at him before sitting back in his seat.
Iida nods, "That's a good idea, Asui!"
"Just call me Tsu," Nobody hears her though. Poor girl. Satoru surely will!
Iida pulls out some notecards and passes them to everybody, "Please write the name of who you believe should be the class representative! Yaoyorozu, can you pick up the cards if anyone finishes them while I am passing them out?"
"Certainly," Yaoyorozu says as she gets up to do her job.
When Satoru receives his card, he doesn't consider it much when he writes his choice on there.
Yaoyorozu. Simply put, he chooses her because she knows what she is doing, seems mature, and is bearable unlike Iida. She picks his folded card up, and all he does is smile at her. There is no reason to give away his answer, after all.
Iida returns to the front with Yaoyorozu soon behind her, and they start counting the cards with names. Anyone who got voted on has their name written on the board, and any more gets marks beside it.
At the end, Midoriya gets class representative while Yaoyorozu gets vice. The two stand in the front with two completely different reactions. Yaoyorozu looks confident with a smile on her face. She looks ready to take on whatever the hell this class gets into. Midoriya…
Well, Midoriya is acting as if he is about to be eaten at any point by his peers.
"Who the hell voted for the nerd?!" Bakugo yells.
Satoru takes this as a chance to attack Bakugo once more, "Certainly not you since you only got one vote, which I assume is from yourself seeing how nobody wants anger to control the entire room?"
"SHUT UP, BLINDY!"
Midoriya is trying to say something, but he gets cut off by Aizawa, "Midoriya is your representative while Yaoyorozu is your vice. Return to your seats so we can get this class over with."
Yaoyorozu calmly goes to her seat while Midoriya scrambles to his. Midoriya might not have the confidence to be a class representative, but at least it isn't Iida.
Class starts with no issues besides Bakugo peering over his shoulder at Midoriya, looking ready to shred the boy into pieces at any moment.
-
Lunch comes around, and Satoru feels disappointment when he looks out the window of his class before leaving to find the media still there. If he has to go through them again, he might have some issues. Don't they know that All Might is not going to come out just to their questions? The man may be polite to the media when he can, but he definitely does not spend a lot of time with it. Most heroes don't as they are trying to do their job.
Satoru grabs his lunch, and he ends up sitting with Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida again. He tried to join Ashido and Kaminari, but seeing as they somehow wasted their time coming to the cafeteria and are now in the back of the long line, it will take a while for them to sit.
"Congratulations, Deku! We're excited to see what you can do!" Uraraka compliments Midoriya. Satoru has no idea where a name like that came from, but Midoriya isn't complaining. He'll stay quiet about it for now.
The boy blushes and stutters out, "Ah, I don't think I will do that well! I think Iida should have been class representative! Who voted for me anyway?"
Iida adjusts his glasses, "I appreciate the sentiment, Midoriya. Even though I wanted to be class representative, I believe you are a good choice for the position as well."
"You voted for me, Iida?"
"Why, of course. You have demonstrated the abilities to do so. I don't see why not."
"I did as well!" Uraraka adds.
Midoriya looks between the two in shock, "Oh, thank you, guys! I wonder who the last person who voted for me is."
All three of them look at Satoru while he is stuffing a brownie in his mouth, "Yes?"
Iida chops his arm, "You can't stuff food in your mouth! That's inappropriate table behavior!"
Satoru gulps the brownie down, and pouts, "But it's good!"
Iida sighs, "Did you happen to vote for Midoriya as well, Gojo?"
"Nope. No offense to you, Midoriya. Everything is there. I just think you need more confidence."
Midoriya nods, "I understand-"
Suddenly, the alarms go off. It's like that single sound took away everyone's logic as everyone starts rushing to the exit, pushing and shoving people out of the way.
"That's a stage three: a villain broke into the school! We should hurry!" Iida informs the crew as he gets out of his seat to join them.
Midoriya and Uraraka join Iida as well, but not Satoru. He does not want to get messed up by the seat of teenagers around him. Instead, he stands up in his seat and checks out the window to see what is going on.
Of course, it is the media ruining his day further. Somehow, they busted down the gate and now are standing outside the building. Satoru is surprised they haven't rushed into the building, but he guesses the teachers are stopping them there. He realizes that it's probably a good idea to inform the students around him so that they can settle down.
"Everyone, it's just the media!" Satoru hollers as he sits down in his chair before he gets toppled over. He isn't heard.
Looking through the crowd, Satoru finds Iida's blue hair popping out. The boy may be eccentric, but it's that personality that might be able to capture everyone's attention and get them to calm down.
The irony.
Satoru stands up and makes his way through the crowd, not really caring if he is shoving people aside, "You guys should really calm down! If you can look out the window, you would just see the media." Maybe he is slightly angry, but nobody can blame him when common sense was ripped away from everybody else here.
"Iida!" Satoru calls to him, but there is no response. Everyone is panicking, and that easily covers his voice. This is just frustrating him now.
However, it seems like someone got the same idea as Satoru because the next thing he knows, Iida is flying over the crowd until he stops in front of an exit sign.
That immediately captures everyone's attention, especially because Iida is in the same exact position as the picture in the sign.
Iida calls out to everyone, "Everyone please calm down! There is no villains on the premise! The alarm was triggered by the media people coming inside! Please calm down and return to your classrooms without pushing or shoving please!"
As expected, Iida's announcement works. Everyone calms down and starts returning to their classes casually, including Satoru.
Once class 1-A has returned, Midoriya stands in front of everyone nervous.
"I know that you chose me to be your class representative, and I appreciate that! But I don't feel that I am ready yet. During the media break in, I did nothing. It was Iida who did something. Therefore, I would like to pass my role onto him if you do not mind," Midoriya explains to the class.
The red-haired boy is the first to respond, "If Midoriya supports Iida, I do too!" The rest of the class hops on board.
Midoriya returns to his seat, and Iida takes his place, "Thank you, Midoriya, for allowing me this opportunity! I promise that I will not let you guys down!"
"Now that's out of the way, it's time to get back go work," Aizawa says, who was in the corner the whole time. Iida returns to his seat, and Aizawa goes to his desk and starts teaching.
Eventually, class does end, and that includes the day.
"I can't believe you didn't wait for us at lunch! Even Sero and Kirishima waited for us!" Kaminari whines as he and Ashido follow him. Satoru knows Sero, but he doesn't know Kirishima. He should go introduce himself to the boy tomorrow.
"You guys were last in line somehow. I can only wait so long when there was a brownie on my plate!" Satoru defends himself with as he starts to go through the gate. However, as he looks down, something catches his eye.
Dust. Dust scattered from where the reporters ran.
Nobody else would see it unless they had a great vision like Satoru, but he does. It wasn't here this morning. That means the media must have done something to make dust appear. They must have been bold if they use their quirk to break into UA. Satoru assumes that they are arrested by now since this is a specific leftover for a quirk to leave behind.
Unless UA did not see it during their investigation with what happened. Then what?
Satoru shoves it out of his head. UA is a prestigious hero school for a reason. They probably already have everything dealt with.
Satoru is knocked out of his inner thoughts when he is slapped across the face by Ashido, "Ow! What did you do that for?!"
Ashido puts her hands on her hips and glares at him, "I told you that I was going to slap you if you didn't respond, and you didn't!" Her glare drops, shifting to something more concerned, "Is there something wrong?"
Satoru shakes his head, "Nah. I just thought of something, that's all."
"You really know how to get caught up in them if you didn't even hear me."
Satoru laughs, "Yeah! It's a special part of me!" He starts to move again, not realizing that he had stopped until then.
"That's special alright. Hey, we're going to head to the coffee shop nearby with a couple of others! You want to join us?"
Kaminari includes, "Yeah, you should totally join us!"
Satoru awkwardly rubs the back of his neck, "I would, but I have family to watch over. Maybe next time."
"Dang it, okay!" Both Kaminari and Ashido pout.
"If you keep pouting like that, your face will freeze like that," Satoru teases as he approaches the family car.
"Well, just follow our deeds and we won't, mister spacy!" Ashido responds with.
Kaminari supports her, "Yeah!"
Satoru shakes his head with a smile, "That sounds like your problems, not mine. Either way, I'm heading out! Bye bye!"
"Hey, wait-!"
Before they can say anything, Satoru gets into the car and closes the door on them. They both look done with him, but what can he say? He has things to do.
The driver takes Satoru home to go play with his little sister.
