He let her rest for awhile before he sat up on his arm and observed all the little rhythms of her body, the flutter of her lashes, the steady, relaxed in and out of her breathing, the way her breasts rose and fell beneath the top sheet, the smallest beads of perspiration along her temples, and the damp strands of hair curled along her cheek. "What are you thinking?" she asked and brought up her finger to stroke the soft hair along his jawline.

"Oh, nothing too important. I'm just thinking it might be a good time right now to tell me what you did with those ill-gotten gains of yours."

"Does it really matter?"

"I'm just curious."

"All right." She rose on her elbows, plumped the pillows behind her and laid back to get comfortable. "As far as the statuettes are concerned, I shipped them back to Count Cassini, anonymously of course."

"Change of heart?" Ross moved to cuddle against her.
